Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Belk loosing employees at an epic rate

Belk’s employee turnover has suddenly increased exponentially, again…..In the last month stores have lost both managers and associates at an alarmingly high rate, and stores were told simply to play the “belk is hiring” promo over the intercom.

But, Belk cannot find applicants for jobs, both for management and hourly associates. Some say because of artificially low pay, terrible perks and benefits, and lousy hours.

So what’s Belk corporate going to do?

Starting pay at $13…..not attractive to, well, as it turns out….anyone…..

Work for one of the $15.00 minimum wage stores, yes i am blessed. My store is currently hiring for a department that, yes does need more people, but they should be hiring at least 2 full time people to do go backs and organize a particular major "department". But what do I know? I'm basically minimum wage.

@1ggh. Are you the moderator for this site? People can post whatever they feel. Belk may belittle and disrespect people but they can't stop us from feeling a certain way. And I guess it is our business whether we stay or quit.

Belk should pay associates by his or her intelligence not on talent or quality work! Five dollars an hour is good. Love it here or leave Belk for Taco Bell quality workers! Enough said about this Belk pay rate ok!

Belk losing talents associates because Belk does not pay $13 or $14 for new workers but save money and bonuses for top store managers as smart highly intelligent leaders? This is a great thinking at Belk company and continue to do so at Belk as long as the sun still rise shine brightly at this talented company!
