Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

The 5 days a month is a gag

If you think you are going to work remotely all but 5 days a month, you’re wrong.

SF is losing call center employees faster than they can be trained and replaced. If your goal is to work from home I’d start looking and applying elsewhere now.

They are only trying to damage control those leaving to work from home full time.

Seriously if you really believe they don’t want your a-s in your seat full time in an office chained to your desk. You’ve already drank the kool-aid.

I’m officially out of here in a few weeks, hope you all the best in your search!

Haha I’m OP, if I told you the rarity of my genetic condition you’d probably want to put a g-n in your mouth like I do everyday, with the news you’re about to hear. Unfortunately we are getting more and more rare as less of us are putting kids through this cold world.

I’m in an activist group to help youth who grew up like me questioning everything, failing school and being too smart realistically for anyone’s good depending on their path in life.

We are out numbered by psychopaths, and socio’s easily 10,000/1, the world will never see any more people that are and probably less that think things through. (I preach kids this as scary as it sounds, I don’t leave out any truth.)

I had goals to change the world I think like any young person does, now I just use my intelligence for my personal benefit, and do my small part of helping people just in case I do get judged one day.

I don’t want to give out too many details but we are usually made from the sp--m of schizophrenics, or narcissistic psychopaths.

I’ll save you the fun and let you educate yourself and put the puzzle together.

I’m not a female but I am married to someone pretty attractive, the benefits for females not being eye ball undressed, or harassed is probably a huge win wfh also.

@eqd+1bkkcvoS Considering leaving here was a promotion, this part of the company has for the better park of a decade wfh, whoever is telling you it’s hard to promote wfh is a loser period, and end of story. They probably think their job is also a hobby, passion, and personality trait. The kool aid runs deep at the farm with people that were born onto this floating rock to serve really no purpose other than to cause headaches for those who just want to live.

Actually if you want to talk logic, half the stuff you’d normally get judged for is out the window.

It actually gives employers less immature leverage when applying for promotions.

I can go on, enjoy your kool aid it’s clear you drank yours, then went up for seconds!

I read about all the advantages of working from home and don’t dispute them (mixed feelings on my own situation) are there any disadvantages? Training? Isolation? No promotions so I guess that doesn’t matter.

I worked in the field 30 years of my career and the rest in a LOC. I did more work and was more productive the first 30 years . The last years I really was enlightened about a lot of sickness within the company. The anger, hate, and mental illness was shocking to say the least. Outright hostility was more prevalent among those who tried to put focus on all except their own issues. People who are trying to make ends meet were those I felt sorry for the most. Maybe if they do the WFH it will be more a more healthy work environment. The politics will be in the hands of a very few like they want. There are pluses and minuses.

@qdd+1bkkcvoS I’ll also throw in, I’m making more also simply because most states have an office for in person stuff which is maybe once every 1-3 years, it’s literally a small shack for a company everyone’s probably heard of.

So working for a company that mitigates unnecessary over head costs and gives back to the employee is a win win for everyone involved.

Looking at SF, vs getting now a piece of the future, I think SF has a lot to prepare for.

Now we went full circle on why I shot my shot at full time WFH careers.

@qdd+1bkkcvoS Oh I totally agree I’m OP, I could make double in the field with my skills easily. I enjoy working from home also as I have a healthy home life.

I came from a field of blue collar work, so I’m totally ok with the pay trade off vs actually busting my a-s day in and day out.

I’m not even leaving for an insurance competitor but still auto in a different area.

Fortunately someone has to be up to speed with repair processes, And also computers.

I really think working from home actually invites mature, working folks as we all just want our paycheck and carry on with life.

I’m starting to learn wfh really weeds out politics, rumors, and the other ignorant stuff you can just hear and find in offices.

It was a very much different type of interview process I went through with the new career, Mainly focused on confidence with minimal management support.

I’m now making 20-30% less than my current manager at SF, my new manager is an absolute powerhouse guru and makes double.

So it’s definitely occurred to me working from home is just as much of a skill as working with your hands. It’s your brain now. I’m just blessed with both.

Yeah, I think companies expecting butts-in-seats where it isn't required are in for a rude awakening.
