@1hzg+1oHUYeM6 what do you mean by "you are throwing away your job for nothing." ?

Reality is a company cares until they need to layoff, then there is no care…learned that a long time ago. Don’t be fooled by corporate care speak. Take care of you and your family first. The corporation won’t.

@1bme+1oHUYeM6 contractors don't get fired, they just get taken off their contract. So that's a completely different story and irrelevant as that can happen at the drop of a hat if they sneeze wrong and we don't like it. Also, I would venture to say you don't know the whole picture of the person who did get "fired". It may have seemed sudden to you, but it wasn't. And that's my point, it takes time to be fired at any large corporation.

@1eck+1oHUYeM6 In my group both an FTE and a contractor got fired because they required a bit of hand holding from the rest of the group. They still worked and got their stories completed on time, yet they were terminated. Depends on who you work for I guess.

LOL at all these corporate cronies just loving an opportunity to lick Schwab's boot. I'm with you, man. I'm doing the bare minimum required of me until this firm gets their heads out of their assess with these layoffs. They've shown how little they care, so right back at em.

Also, some of you CLEARLY have no idea how fu----g hard it is to get fired from a corp like Schwab. Especially for loose sh-t like "not doing a good enough job". That takes a PIP, and months to finally get to being fired.

So keep slacking, my friend! Don't go down easy - make this time as hard for this firm as they are making it for us.

I've attended the PL leader with Dennis a while ago and let me put it this way: unless you are management, there is a very good chance that you are throwing away your job for nothing.

Look, I under you feeling that way. Clearly, a lot of us are not happy with how things have been done at the company. But we also work in smaller teams who would have to pick up the slack for no fault of theirs. I’m not going to let the EC’s actions adversely impact my team’s and Managers’ day-to-day because of me. They are also struggling and I want them to be able to rely on me like I’ve been able to rely on them.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if you are not actually on the layoff list but due to you not doing any work, you get fired with no severance?

Don’t give management a reason to save on severance my friend. Do what you need to do, but no more than that.

Try holding your breath too. It worked when you were 3 years old as well. I’m sure.
