Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Like a creepy neighbor …

… Fake Jake is now going to be looking through our windows. LOC employees are getting webcams, all the better for Verint to spy on us with.

@7pgh is just making BS up. Virgin Islands what a laugh. Once upon a time this site was helpful in terms of providing updates and for some a source of information. Now, it just patrolled by some trolls that get their kicks posting crazy and sometimes near obscene nonsense to just get people to respond.

High school spying and systems and data and surveillance monitoring. Calling it workday and collection agencies do this in their call centers. It’s disgusting for adults to work in places like that that manage and a perverted way to “budget” and assess people helping the management & leaders look good and get bonuses and act like cheap a-ss call & and claim & agency service centers with scripts & chat bots (AI) that helps no one except systems look
Cool & “spy& analyze” and call it innovation and metrics in a service not production industry. $$$

Surveillance capitalism exploits people in the workplace & in their private lives as well.

China model and devices and way.

And if you bring legal action, Jake will buy a judge and shut you down.

Why do you work and go though this to keep a couple dozen people filthy rich? Inquire about the real estate holdings in Chicago's Gold Coast and the Virgin Islands. You will be amazed.

buy this switch

https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UMLS/dp/B00BWF5U0M/ref=sr_1_31?crid=3CX3EJOACZ8C1&dchild=1&keywords=usb+switch+on+off&qid=1620058903&sprefix=usb+switch+%2Caps%2C219&sr=8-31

it has individual on off switches per USB port that light up when on but dont when off , so you can tell which one is on at any given time

then plug your head set in one and Camera in the other (if we get to that point of getting cameras which i wish we wouldn't)

now you get to control when both are on and off, they cant tell on the other side that you have a switch only that the headset is not on, and no TM is going ask why your headset if off because if they did they would give away they are listening in at random times other than phone calls

@1lm

a few things,
1 Windows notifies when something is using your Mic
2 the headset has a light that turns on when its being used
3 I heard the static feedback on the headphone like when actual power is flowing thru the speakers meaning the headset is now magically on when it was off
4 i was listening to a certain song one time when i was not on phones and a certain TM in their infinite wisdom let out he also liked said song , i guess when i think about it that mayhave been their way of telling me they can hear me anytime they want without telling me ... hmmm

and no i had not just taken a call and the mic was still recording , this was i had task time beginning of day never on a phone call but mic magically turns on , lights up , hear static on my headset , windows notifies a program is accessing the microphone and later that week on 1x1 it gets brought up about the song ...

It’s obvious that you do not work in claims because I see much worse grammar on a daily basis coming out of ILR, Express, Inj CA & even the uber-elite Injury Claim Specialists.

That webcam imo is the same as a firearm. If I don't know you and you come in my house, I reserve the right to disarm you or you can leave. Big Business wants nothing more than to control you. Remember, if it's OK for me but not for you it's not on the up and up. Trust.....no way!

Using surveillance apps like Verint are one thing, but the possibility of being spied on through a webcam is really Big Brother. What a way to create even more resentment and distrust from employees.

If it is a condition of employment the employee is free to accept it or refuse the job and seek employment elsewhere.

State Farm is asking to place a monitoring camera in your private home. This is not the employer's premises so the employer does not have the same right to monitor as on the employer's premises. I am quite confident that requiring a camera in an employee's home constitutes an unreasonable invasion of employee privacy. I am sure that the ACLU would be very interested.

Pray tell, WHAT chance is there to participate virtually in claims?! The 15 minutes per week during Huddle? 1x1? Stop me when I get to something customer related or can’t do over audio … has anyone heard what these supposed benefits are? A-s clowns can’t even get everyone to have a photo on Skype but NOW they want go full A/V? Yes, MyBlock training will be so much better now.

I can confirm this, during huddle we were told they want cameras for huddles and 1x1...but if the dam thing is plugged in what's stopping them from accessing camera any time they want?

i caught TMs turning mic on when i am not on a phone call , they think they are so clever and i would not notice, purchased a USB splitter with individual on off switches for each port, now when the call ends the Mic is disconnected from PC via the switch (so i dont damage pc of headset) and they get to hear nothing.

when i work on a claim and off the phone ill put music on or whatever to get on a rhythm working and ill be dammed if creepy Jake will hear me humming to a song or know what i listen to, they can already see my screen and key strokes and that is enough when im not on a phonecall , they can already listen to the call when it happens and that's enough.

Guess what will happen to the camera, going to that switch and it will be off all of the time except for when i want it to be on which is 0.001% of the time at best.

@1shr+1aBMMloQ The point is that SF has created significant distrust with it's employees and puts minimal effort to rebuild trust.

This is probably an over reaction post, which is the norm here, along with presenting info in a dishonest way.

Now, did they give you a webcam so you could participate virtually better? I know many complained at having no SF approved camera for this.

Or is this a webcam you need to have installed and running while you work so they can watch you, which doesnt make sense since they have a way to track your keys/mouse/screen?

Stuff like this is why this site offers little to no value on the state of companies and layoffs. I see so much dishonest posting here.

Verint already logs keystrokes, calls, and your screen. You know the expectation will be to have the lens uncovered at all times and you’ll get a Skype msg if it is. If you doubt it you haven’t worked in Claims lately …

I find working at Shi-ite Farm most enjoyable. On a typical day I show up, log in then take off for like an hour. Then I come back do a bunch of easy tasks to meet metrics. Close some claims that aren't ready to be closed to push up my day closures, then push as much work as possible on others. If I'm on a call too long, I hang up then when they call back I pretend they must have accidentally hung up. I like lawsuit claims so I push many claims towards that. Sure it costs the company more money with lawsuits but I dont care. Then I take a long lunch. Make it look like I'm working the rest of the day and leave. I play alot of solitaire...Managers and section managers are moronds so its ez to fool them. Nobody cares about SF anymore. Why would you the way you are treated. And finally, when you don't know how to run a company what do you do? You micro manage and hope it works. Fingers crossed. Well the clowns in charge applied a production business model to a service industry and it has been an epic fail. SF may never recover. EVER.

LOL it’s just so we can start actually seeing each other again and feel more connected, I’m sure. Be less of a slob, and just put down the privacy flap when you’re not in a meeting and not using it. Sheesh people.

Huddles will be fun, but 1x1 will be creepy when they start whipping out the screenshots from when they turned on our cam because our mouse wasn’t moving and they didnt hear anything when they tapped our mic.

if that spreads to the rest of claims that is the moment i leave, its my house I have a right to privacy, if creepy Jake wants to look at my screen and hear me talk to customers fine I get paid to do a job but web cam he-l no, creepy Jake doesn't get to see my Family, my home , that is one thing Creepy Jake doesn't get to micro manage.
