next round of layoffs?

I have been working here for the past 2 years, specifically in manufacturing (engineer). I am starting to hear some noise on the next round of layoffs. any thoughts?

Thermo just laid off crazy amount of people in Carlsbad and Germany. Especially the oldies who make lots of $$$$. Illumina always copy everything Thermo does. Our RIFS are almost at same time, taking away stocks, RTO etc…
A nice kicker; their CEO just resigned a 5 year contract and will make an extra bonus of $60 MM if he doubles the stock price in 5 years! Sounds familiar?!!!!

@1e6 is it possible that the person was part of the April RIF but had to continue working as part of their severance/retention bonus package?

What does the status of some jobs changed to frozen mean? Do you mean they froze reqs?
