Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Hourly Workers

I see hourly workers on here complaining about people working from home and wanting to cut people's pay if they do. I think they should go salaried and work OT for free like we do! We need to be one team on this!

@1crg, Yes indeed it is. That's another one of the characteristics of a WFH person, anything going wrong or not getting done - someone else's fault. We take no responsibility for anything, it's part of our M.O. We just lay back and chill and blame nothing getting done on management.

@1ktk+1v4xBUUj Isn't that a management problem though? If those people have that much time on their hands, they don't have enough work to do, because their managers don't care or have no clue?

Even if your force those people in 5 days a week, they will just waste time in other ways....

The problem isn't WFH, it's poor people management.

A big advantage of WFH is those of us who get that sweet gig don't have to work much at all. All you need to do is pretend to be at work on your computer on teams, and such, and you can pretty much do anything that you want around the house. That's a big benefit for us. We can take care of the kiddos, play video games, prepare meals, etc., all on company time. WFH days are not much different than vacation days for most of us.

OT and WFH have nothing to do with each other. Same with salary or hourly both have nothing to do with WFH. WFH will be renamed ENGINE soon.....

A big advantage to working salary is you don't have to work a minimum of 40 hours. You only have to work as long as it takes to get your work done.

Salaried workers get paid for 40 hours only but companies push people to work longer hours to rip employees off. The constant cuts and layoffs force it.

Well if you working “OT” for free, then you have your own problems.
