Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Don’t fear the layoffs

They’d be doing you a favor if they let you go. I was laid off last year. Now I’m working at a better company, with a better manager, better pay and benefits, and I actually feel appreciated. Yes, workplaces like that do exist. And yes, PepsiCo is one of the worst. I understand the fear. I felt horrible and scared when I was shown the door. But it turned out to be the best thing that’s happened to me in years.

@OP I’ve also observed some concerning behaviors within the Hyderabad team—particularly from a few individuals like Radha , Meetu and Prashant, who were brought in under Santosh. On multiple occasions, their approach in calls has felt aggressive and dismissive, lacking the collaborative and respectful culture we expect. It’s important we address this constructively to ensure everyone feels safe to contribute and no one is leveraging their status to intimidate others

@1cm yes, so did the Indians who man all aspects of the IT using their clans to create a glass ceiling of not only presenting a cultural barriers but an ethnic barrier. They bully, harass and treat everyone like their are on a god given hierarchy with a me master you slave. WTF. They act in gangs and always looking after each other.
It is time to impose harsh quotas in hiring Indians. What has Hyderabad delivered anything of value. Zilch. Nothing. Except for nepotism, racism and bigotry which ensures MAGA became MIGA.

@1cm Yes, over the years bullying became a signature trademark of PepsiCo's brand at all levels of the hierarchy. We are just seeing the negative effects come to fruition caused by years of corporate bullying, abuse, and greed.

Unfortunately toxic culture came out when the former CFO and CIO Seth Cohen were around. They went around bullying people and normalized the rude behavior. HR did nothing. You all feeling the aftermath. This will go on for sometime until they bring in some good leaders from outside. If things change I may come back.

@OP - Same. I was very lucky to have another job lined up with they offered the VRP. The new company allowed me to take a few months off between to detox. My work/life balance is actually balanced and I'm happier than I've been in years.

I was laid off in 2024 at 57 and was offered the VRP the year prior so I knew the were going to get me one way or another. Either way, I had been planning and was hoping they'd give me the boot plus I was getting sick of the DEI nonsense. I received 8 months severance. I am in the small percentile of people where I retired from the military so I have a pension and now a PepsiCo one so no complaints from me.

@d5 the results clearly show how clueless and ineffective the current management is at all levels. Their solution will be to "play office harder" and just have more useless meetings, create more useless ppts, more useless dashboards etc for no other reason than to try and create the perception/illusion that they are adding value and earning their keep.

I left DPA (S&T) last year, and could not be happier today. Sick, toxic environment - exactly opposite to what Pepsico brand projects to consumers! There is something seriously wrong with Pepsico, considering all the comments on this forum here.
No wonder the company is on the downwards trajectory. For its Q2 2025 analysts expect PEP to report a non-GAAP EPS of $2.03, down 11% from $2.28 reported in the year-ago quarter. Instead of the previously projected mid-single-digit growth, PepsiCo now expects flat core constant currency EPS growth, citing rising supply chain costs, particularly from tariffs, and continued weakness in consumer demand.
