Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

Scared out of my wits

I’m really struggling to cope right now. I’ve gotten past the layoffs (mentally at least) but to financially bounce back is such a burden at the moment. I’ve done everything possible to live below my means and even with that it looks like I’ve got roughly another 6 months of stability left. I’m responding to job postings daily and I’ve even had some interviews - but nothing beyond that. It’s taking everything I have not to freak out and remain calm. I know things will get better I just wish I knew when.

I worked at Raymond James for close to 20 years and was hoping I could finish my career there. I have never been out of work this long and it's frustrating and scary too but still I am thankful for so many other things. Yes it's not easy in many ways but hope it helps to know you are not the only one having some "difficult" times :-)

It's March and I still no job, yes after so many years of working at RJ my job search skills were outdated but still it has not been easy. A few interviews but nothing yet. From time to time I get messages from so called "recruiters" that have opportunities but when I ask for more information or send my resume then I do not hear from them again, not even a thank you or the position is taken or else.

Any one else having this issue with so called "recruiters"?

I agree with @1cgq+18jDni10 - I know December is going to be slow. Employers have other things happening, both professionally and personally. I'm still searching and applying every single day, but I don't expect much to happen until at least next month. Just trying to stay focused and as positive as I can right now.

It’s hard to see what’s next but it’s there. You’re doing the right things and we know that things slow down during the holidays and pick back up in mid January. You’ve got this!
