Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Promote and Fire

In last few years Cisco promoted all incompetent managers to directors and onboarded external leaders giving then double jump. Some leaders brought lots of junk into Cisco creating a big filth. Finally cleaned up but sametime it impacted expereinced Cisco employees. See what’s happening in Acquisition and integration group, why do they need so many directors who are moved from other groups during layoff to save their as-es

Cisco’s AI should give Chuck a clue that these LRs are insane!

23 years of layoffs and proclamations that the company would instantly collapse each round. The doors are still open and the stock isn't far from 23 year highs. As a legacy company with staggering technical debt this is as good as it's going to get.

@1btr+1vhD0NQ9 , your friends should be able to celebrate their Cisco promotion publicly and you should be authentically happy for them. Your friends promo isn't about you. Its not about protecting YOUR feelings kiddo. Let them celebrate. Don't be that person.

You were laid off. Move on and grow your income from it. You actually will find a new job and bag a 20% pay increase. That's more than your friend got with a promotion at Cisco.

I agree on the politics! It is all about which SVP you kiss up to, and you either become part of the problem where you take advantage of people to "try" to get to the top, or you are LRed. Like was said, folks sickly celebrate their Cisco promotion on LinkedIn and doesn't matter to them their past friends were impacted and are still looking for a job. Do they contact those past friends and help them find a role after they got the big promo? No! They are now brainwashed and forget! One day a documentary should be done on the real culture of what some call leadership at Cisco. It would reveal the selfishness of the human nature in the corporate world.

It is so discouraging to be laid off and then see friends celebrate their Cisco promotion!!! They are promoted and then become part of the Cisco culture problem where Cisco no longer cares about people! Cisco has become a sick company and all about making the Sr leadership rich! Some people do stand up, but then end up like me... Laid off.

A&I is a joke. They have a playbook they use, one size fits all. They’ve been using the same thing over and over for years. Many have brought innovative solutions to leadership only to be shot down.

The team that actually does the work is great, directors and above run around playing politics instead of actually doing their job.

That team needs new leadership.
