Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

TL new people

So I’m on my break in the Illinois operations center, and see TL with 25-30 new people here for new hire orientation. How can one section need this many people? What kind of turnover is this claim section having?

emr+1j8YDsYf I’m not saying 30-50k a year is living, but claims adjusters are needed by federal law we all pay insurance, why would we not want well paid/trained people helping us in lifes biggest downturn losing a car/home?

Like I said I realize it’s not a career for most currently, but the principal of insurance is the scam company paying for losses. Why are the very people that help with losses, mandates by our gov, paid the least?

The kool aid has been poured into your Bain Da---r style.

@1lrb. If the hiring was metrics based, management would be on progressive discipline. The low life's are good at taking a paycheck and make the employees life a living h e l l, but when it comes to producing results they're no where to be found. Just like politicians.

TL lost 60% of their people probably closer to 70% , 30 people wont make a dent, of those you be lucky to retain 5... i seen this we had 48 before and 3 remain

TL is being ran by 80% ECRs then people from PIP and other segments help
every claim is a mess

Then management sits back and wonders why they aren't trusted.

To make up for all the people they laid off/micro managed out the door because their salaries were approaching over 18$ an hour.

I started there during Donald trump, and left there when Biden was elected. My pay didn’t go up at all. Actually I lost a lot of money due to inflation.

This is not a political opinion just an example with inflation. I see the advertised pay per hour hasn’t changed in 4-5 years.

TL is one of the worst run departments at the farm.

Basically its a long difficult conversation to do the TL work, and then there is a good amount of paper work that needs to be created, flawlessly, and sent out.

The training is a crash course that doesnt prepare you for the work youll actually do, so many quit within a few weeks of going live, as it can be a very rough call even if you know what you are doing.

Then there are the title issues and post settlement problems, for which nearly no one employed by TL will know how to resolve.

They are backed up, and have been using 3rd party temps for a long time, who literally just complete tasks and leaves the mess for the SF TL associate.

Its low paying, difficult, unfun, and a very unsupportive environment, that doesn't properly train its new hires, and loses lots of people. Since they lose so many, the hiring standards are non existent, which adds to the turnover.

Unless you plan on making auto insurance a career, something this role isn't anymore really, you would be better off getting a similarly paying retail or food industry job, and enjoy a more social environment, more flexibility, ect....and most seem to come to this conclusion given its only a few bucks more an hr over food/retail industry.
