Some of you all need to grow up. Other companies have the EXACT schedule.

@1b5 this is where actually working somewhere or just due diligence is key. Unless you’re speaking about marketing in particular you’d be wrong. I’ve seen this same individual with the same writing style bring this up in regards to John and Clay. It’s clearly someone on the outside of either company trying to sow discourse.

it is likely that when people talk say OU Frat they mean middle management

@13z heard and living it are two different things. Who are you talking about being OU buds? Clay is from Texas and went to college there. Jeff is basically the only one who got his MBA from OU Price business school, he's also spent 25 years building Devon up in every finance and business department. I'm talking about the vast amount of outsourcing that Coterra did as well as their management and execs qualifications. If you worked here you would understand the vast difference in the two companies. You may also notice that the CFO was running finances for a 2 billion market cap company just three years ago, that's after he led his previous company into bankruptcy, what qualifies him to manage the finances for a 60 billion dollar company? Go down the list and look at the qualifications of each companies counterparts and you'll begin to get the picture. Now that you've done that imagine trying to merge systems and the people on the other side don't know what you're talking about half the time. There's about 60 L DVN directors, vp, and managers who actually live these problems and don't have to resort to what they've heard or gossip, they unfortunately are tasked with the dumpster fire cleanup caused by poor leadership and inadequacy. So if you are from coterra and you've met managers whom don't actually manage anyone or you're assisting managers who have almost no experience in the department that they've been tasked to manage then you are the problem. If you don't know what I'm talking about then either look around or ask for a promotion and you'll find out soon.

@zh I've heard just the opposite in that the DVN folks are all OU chums who've never worked anywhere else and are so used to being overstaffed and not having to do anything and now they might have to work. Just wait until they get acquired and have to look for another job besides Daddy DVN.

@vf par for the course when it comes to Coterra management. There are a few good ones, but the majority of all my interactions and other peers have been quite poor. It seems they used outside contractors frequently and don’t fully comprehend how to run the department they’re in charge of. They’ll be weeded out in a few years or brought up to a functional standard.

@v1 Well said. We are inheriting one of their managers and I, for one, am not impressed. I've been in a few meetings with him and he doesn't appear very knowledgeable. He usually deflects/ defers to someone else.

@dj seems to be the coterra standard. I’m expecting a large amount in finance and legal to be quiting in a year due to large workload and massive incompetence on the coterra side. The amount that was outsourced and just never fully understood is baffling. I’m amazed coterra managed to operate for as long as it did, which is just 5 ish years after the merger.

@bx Nah, they just miss their deadlines and no one holds them accountable. It's a dumpster fire.

@OP Think of it as a perk- no one does anything on their WFH half day Fridays. Maybe log.in for 15 minutes to check email, then open Teams on their phone so they look active. It's a joke.
