I left Cisco as my stupid manager fired all cylinders to kick me out. I lost close to $200K. It comes with reputation loss to the stupid guy in all possible ways. He didn't give a damn yet. Any recommendation how I should I give back the same to him in future?

Kindness seems to be involved here with his impotency.
This thread reminded of my journey at Cisco long time back. My manager played cheap politics to keep me down for some kind of hatred developed. He made my colleagues leads during my bad times over the projects I am working, which I objected seriously. None of them are from the great schools in India and matching academics like me. He kept on telling others are good. I kept on telling him my academics are good. He didn't agree. I didn't agree. He wants me to show case better performance. I want others to show case better academics. I didn't improve performance, they didn't improve academics. I left CIsco and lost money. He thought I will. beg him back for money. I never approached.
He is happy that I lost money.
I am happy that he is poor academics guy.
I made money and he made money.
I earned degrees from multiple reputed universities, he remained the same.
He just wants performance, he is ready to loose me.
I just want academics, I am ready to loose him.
He is very proud whatever he accomplished even he is stagnated.
Managers like him live in illusion they are the only one in the world for their engineers. People move on with better career opportunities. The Cisco devotees are retiring at stagnated career doing nothing except justifying their actions.
Exclude typos here, I don't have time to review and hate feedback on English.
@3uva+1vp9Ahyt
I like this approach.
Show up at your boss residence and demand an answer to settle.
Individuals are rarely responsible for being LR'd so while it's certainly personal - don't take it personally. Your boss was given a target by someone well above him or her and forced to cut a % of budget = head count. Don't be mad at the boss, be mad at Chuck and Finance.
@1axr+1vp9Ahyt
I make sure that his reputation is gone.
Best thing you can do is
a. Earn $20M, 200k can be neglected
b. Put him down directly or indirectly whenever you get a chance
I had to leave because of differences with my fu--ing boss!
@OP isn't smart enough to understand how RSU vesting functions yet rants about how he was robbed. What a loss for Cisco!
I have less than 100k in unvested shares.
Gheee, what grade-level are you?
@1axr+1vp9Ahyt
I am not fired, but he make sure that I leave by various means like condensing
- IPF
- Benefits
Descriminating.. The team knows this.
Reputation loss to your boss for firing someone like you? I think not
Cry me a river @uyk. Thousands more who have lost jobs and income and medical and homes
What a bunch of smug aholes commenting - the dude lived up to his/her part of the bargain as a member of the ‘Cisco family’, how do you expect them to feel?
Unvested RSUs ? That's exactly what unvested means @OP. Not vested. They are not yours till your earn it. It's a promise made to you by Cisco. You clearly don't understand this part. You didn't lose anything. If you were laid off then I'm sorry but if you switched jobs then you should negotiate with your new employer to make up for what you are leaving on the table.
Spite, irrational conflict, and blame will steal ones soul.
I would seriously seek counseling, no shame in asking for confidential help to develop good coping skills you can use throughout life.
You need help to start looking at this as a life lesson. Everyone has their issues in life, but not everyone develops the strength to work through them, adapt, and move on.
Get some help and you will turn over to a good next page in life, whatever the circumstances may be.
Dude, success is the best vengance. Forgive him and move on. Be in a situation where when he is in need or trouble and you can give aid-that will heap burning coals on his head.
@OP - How long and what team / organization? Part of LR or PIP? It’s important to know.
You were all talk, no delivery. That trick only works short term in any technology company.
$200K was just an incentive for you to deliver on your story you created when got hired. Its was never yours. You receive incrementally over time.
Chill and brush up on your skills and certifications. Failure is only temporary once you forgive and forge forward.
"I lost close to $200K"
You didn't lose anything mo--n. Unvested stock is just that. Nothing in your pocket and I'm willing to bet you should have been LR'd a few years ago. Now go wipe the entitlement off your face. It makes you looks stupid.
so did you get the LR?
