What's ITS & HTHD?

Thinking about applying for a data scientist role . I see department is "ITS - Data Analytics - HTHD" My preference is to get into GDIA and to steer clear of Ford IT. What is ITS and what is HTHD?

Holy sh-t, there's a lot of cr-p on here...
HTHD -> High Tech High Demand. Typically your regular bonus is ~70-100% more than the non HTHD (or LL6) bonus, and you're also eligible for stock grants (~$30k vesting in thirds over three years). The HTHD designation is specific to your job, so if you change jobs later, you may lose the HTHD status.
GDIA is part of Enterprise Technology (IT) and due to decisions from the top is starting to be funded like IT, which means sooner or later will begin behaving like IT (chasing budget allocation and headcount)

There is more than one ITS

FYI:

ITS = Internal Testing Sector. Typically responsible for overseeing testing protocols that reference dynamic roadworthiness functions.

HTHD = Heavy Testing Heightened Duty cycle . Similar to above but with emphasis on commercial products.

The one guy on our team who had HTHD designation (it was suppose to be a secret) was pressured to voluntarily relinquish his HTHD in the name of social equity. He knew it was not really a ‘Ask’. Big public celebration when a middle aged black woman who has zero technical chops was given the HTHD. So yeah HTHD is a joke at Ford. There are two other black people on the team who actually have a clue who are both annoyed about the village id10t getting the HTHD.

The HTHD is precarious-I had it when I first hired in, and it's been years since anyone mentioned it. My bonuses and such are all the same as everyone else's. What is HTHD today is not necessarily HTHD tomorrow, even if you do keep adding to your skill set.

LOL @1awn Ford IT is well known as the dregs of Metro Detroit IT. And Metro Detroit it isn’t anything to write home about. People canned from other companies retire from Ford. They congregate in areas of the company. One IT group is known as the Kmart specials. The Ford social/scenario interview script is passed around and all the dregs have it memorized, get hired in as there is no real technical interview and they sit in their Ford chair for life.

Many Model e employees are designated HTHD, and this aligns with the mission of the Model e organization. If you can get to this employee status, you are in a good place at Ford.

Ford IT is a great org. Best of the big 3 autos. Find a group where the manager is based locally and you'll do well.

CPUSA is hiring. However, if you don't make it through the work camps and the psycho woke camps, you will see how they do their firing. . . . via firing squad.

Steer clear of GDIA. Its cheap magician hocus pocus. One of these days the curtain will be pulled aside and it will all be exposed.

I was HTHD. Got SIRP'd in August. It's a joke. Slightly higher bonus target. Did nothing for raises.

If you are talking about ITS - Data Analytics - HTHD. That is one of the fake postings to justify giving some favored existing Ford employee the HighTechHighDemand designation. I don’t remember if the S is services or systems. But anyhow GDIA is a sub component of ITS. So it is in GDIA.
The HTHD supposedly gives people a wider salary band, but in practice it does not, except for the favored bootlickers who never really seem to have any relevant skills, or their special talent is hiding their skills. There are HR rules about internal and external postings, so the managers post positions and then claim no applicant was qualified and then they bestow the gift to the bootlickers.

OP Here. After googling around I found: "High Tech High Demand. Ford jargon for in-demand roles specifically in their AI/EV space." Oh, I current work in ultra cruise at GM - I can't seem to find any autonomous stuff @ ford careers - where did they go? I wouldn't mind checking out perception or localization.
