Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Yahoo Finance Analyst Says

"As an investor its worth striving to ensure your overall portfolio beats the market average. But if you try your hand at stock picking, your risk returning less than the market. We regret to report that long term Medtronic plc (NYSE:MDT) shareholders have had that experience, with the share price dropping 30% in three years, versus a market return of about 25%."

Thank u GM

If you want to innovate dont work at MDT, they acquire and sustain products from real innovative start ups. We were purchased as an strategic bet and because of the MDT systems it makes it not impossible but very, very, difficult to launch a new product. Just look at Mini Med, NV, Accutus etc. Takes about 10 years after being acquired to get back on track :)

Just look at all the folks that were proud to be/wanted to be Lifers at MDT that were pushed out the door, while all the ones that MDT was throwing countless dollars at via paying for schooling, bonuses, etc that jumped at first second something better came along...

100% guarantee GM thinks zero % of this performance is his fault. its all the other guys, some old timer he fired, the VP he called "deadweight", macro factors, bla bla bla. Zero accountability for his decisions since becoming CEO that have left us dis-organized from his failed reorg, financially adrift with his insane leverage demands (so much for the investment silos we were all going in), and the morale! never have I seen more people talking openly about if they get a good opportunity to leave how they are gone. Dark days for sure.

No bullish patterns in last 5 years. Many better med tech companies to invest your hard earned money.
