Meraki and GVSE united under a new org
PODs and internal account executives are now the way forward
No LRs for now ....mmmm

You must know these switches Cisco rolled them out with meraki right?
Kinda makes sense dnac is overkill tbh
I left networking ages ago but occasionally need to recommend lower end switches as part of other projects. Cisco's C9x00 switches have well documented features, scaling limits, interface counts and speeds suitable for a range of applications and didn't require a major security hole to a third party my customers wouldn't accept. Meraki appeared to be very low end white boxes with no apparent features. I'm hoping the tail doesn't start wagging the dog.
@2fs i think after the ink was dry in 2012 most people have worked out in the intervening 13 years that it was 100% a takeover, not a merger...shouldn't be news to anyone
Goodbye meraki
Amazing whilst it lasted
Great teams and colleagues the best sales floor in Cisco period
Leadership lied they said merger but this is a takeover
Godspeed friends
The dashboard is blue now
RIP getting things done hello to internal politics and pointless GVS calls
Meraki spineless leadership are saying this is a merger
For anyone educated it is easy to see this is an absorption.
If you are Meraki
You will be given a position, you will like it if not too bad there's the door
@1xh 1000% I eye roll when you see a sales managers kid in the org chart.
GVS are expensive, secretaries no sales acumen or the children of directors or customers 😂
Someone has to employ the useless
@1p0+1jwcj3qwf
Quite often the case you have a more experienced specialist carrying a graduate
GVS do get more exposure to the Cisco leadership and execs so in a way this favours them as more 'present'
Reality will be Cisco will look at the best and keep them from either side
@1ag so not the other way around? Are their plans into impact GVSE AMs or Meraki folks? I’ve always the GVSE AMs were basically worthless CSAPers who just ran around asking their specialist for deal and pipeline updates. God forbid they ever cross sell or get strategic.
Yeah looks like meraki is absorbed into global virtual sales
The business is moving to a software company renewals are a pillar for this
There are ovens which require a software subscription to actually cook food now. Welcome to the end of civilization.
@sehj
Quite a narrow-minded comment
WiFi 7 , unified licensing with meraki
Catalyst series licensing for meraki
Their early products had limitations but their dashboard does serve customers well
Horrible internet interface hmm, perhaps but people use it as opposed to DNAC, who renews the latter ?

I forgot we even sell that second rate , linkedin product, think its called Meraki? Great if you have a home office and want to pay 4k for a router and switch thats managed by a horrible internet interface that needs yearly renewal. Arista you can have that biz, let us work with real products for large orgs, we should sell meraki to Dlink or another chinese company that can actually sell it.
The eff is a pod? I’ve seen some pod people in sales
Instead of LRing they will move people to BUs they don't care about do people leave of their own accord
Meraki is absorbed into GVS
Cisco will / are likely looking at the meraki talent and they will assign to parts of the portfolio within the pod
The Virtual AMs are likely impacted as they are historically junior ICs now being pulled into a pod
@ec global virtual sales and engineering. It’s largely mid-market and SMB accounts.
WTF is GVSE?
How does this affect GVSE overall? Isn’t this what they already were doing?
Can you explain the structure a bit more? I heard this was coming down the pike. So not surprised it’s happening. Makes you think they will move to go with one or the other eventually.
