When does the crazy narcissist that leads planning get punted to the curb?

Wishful thinking. She's still in the org chart showing as on leave.
Ding do-g... Is the wicked witch gone? Haven’t seen her around.
Toxic managers like this one are a cancer and like all cancers need to be excised.
This is sad to read. Some of my favorite people that I have had the pleasure of working with are in the planning group. I hope they don't fall victim.
@1cg The group is under a new exec now, so maybe things will be different. But he won't know these things unless he's told.
@19p The last person who thought of calling her out for the public flogging one of her reports in a group meeting was fired late last year.
If leadership and HR cared they would do interviews with everyone who has been in that group over her whole tenure there whether they rand from the group, are still there suffering in silence, or shes turfed them for not fully yielding to her will.
@1bh As someone who has witnessed interactions with her and the higher ups, I do not think she is protected. Just saying.
@19p prior HR investigations in that area yielded no results.
Junior employees are afraid of rocking the boat and senior people are reluctant to speak out because she seems to be protected from above. No one wants to jump into the bear cage and take her on... its easier just to keep moving along to the next Cenovus Zoo exhibit or better yet head to a whole new attraction.
Respectfully, why haven't you all gone to HR and filed complaints?
The mass exodus from that group as soon as it became clear SM was there to stay should speak volumes. It was like people running from an ambush - they couldnt get out quick enough.
If the mission was to blow the group up then demoralize and control the survivors in a brutal dictatorship it was executed swiftly and effectively.
The planning bully is the workplace equivalent of Hollywood's Weinstein. Dozens of victims subjected to a repeated pattern of workplace mistreatment or abuse, but no one willing to come forward combined with a collective of people in power who know about continue to enable it by doing nothing. Its sad.
Hopefully it unravels before she does more damage.
The characterisrics of a narcicist comment is chillingly accurate.
Each behaviour listed triggered painful memories. It was easy to think of multiple examples for each point, but like others I am reluctant to post any specifics. A few may be documented in formal complaints and investigations.
Most toxic leader I have come across in my entire career.
Anyone competent in this space quickly rexognizes she is way in over her head. But continues to lie, backstab, and throw her own team under the bus while at the same time taking peraonal credit for anything that is done to stay above water.
Really impressive how someone got the description spot on, with clear examples too.
Here are the examples and traits of the narcissist in this post , that make the workplace toxic.
- Lack of empathy – They struggle to understand or care about employees' feelings and needs.
- Excessive self-importance – They constantly seek admiration and believe they are superior.
- Manipulative behavior – They may exploit employees for personal gain or take credit for others' work.
- Inability to handle criticism – They react poorly to feedback and may retaliate against those who challenge them.
- Micromanagement – They often control every detail, making it difficult for employees to work independently.
- Gaslighting – They distort reality to make employees doubt themselves.
- Favoritism – They may play favorites, creating division among team members.
- Blame-shifting – They rarely take responsibility for mistakes and instead blame others.
These behaviors do lead to a toxic work environment, affecting morale and productivity.
@nf How so? Everybody was "nobody" at some point.
But apparently she was a senior person at coke. Thats what she tells everyone anyways
Look at her career path; she was "nobody" prior to joining Cenovus. People like that are dangerous
Interesting comment about the “driving people hard” part—there’s no way she’s the only one in the company doing that. There are some strong leaders that push their teams hard and still don’t end up on this site or get labeled narcissists. The fact that she’s appeared here multiple times and keeps getting called out says a lot more.
Too tough to list specific examples while staying anonymous. Just consider yourself lucky if you haven't had to cross paths with this individual.
@c8 very doubtful that there are any claims! It’s probably that she holds people to a high standard and drives hard. Lots of people don’t like to be held accountable at CVE or work more than the bare minimum.
I've seen the planning lead mentioned in a couple of threads but are there specific examples to substantiate the claims of narcissist?
Who? The current director or outgoing VP? If the former, then maybe the trash will take itself out when the new head is named lol
