Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Do you have a backup plan if things go sideways at work?

I’ve been thinking about mine more lately, maybe switching fields, taking some certifications, or starting something on the side. Considering everything that happened in the last few years, you never know anymore if you're safe or not. Better to be ready than caught off guard.

I’ve thought about standing up and saying my piece on a Townhall and then walking out. Would feel so uplifting I think

@1eh My youngest is starting college this fall. Otherwise I would have been out the door from this h*ll hole yesterday. Otherwise, you make an excellent point!

@19d My question to you is.....why? You're not getting those life days back! See the world. Live life on your clock, not anyone else's. This has to be a generational thing. Work until you can't walk or drop. I will NOT be working when I'm 65 or even 60.

Yes. My back up plan is called retirement. I’m 65 next week and the minute this BS becomes any more than I can bare - it’s see you later. That point is getting closer every day. Not much to celebrate about growing old - but in this case - I wouldn’t want to be any younger. Bye bye PepsiCo. It’s been an “experience”.

If you need a backup plan, you're already in trouble. I just left.

Fear not mi amigos!! Rumor has it that Seth is still trying to make moves to get back into pepsico like he did when he was fired from Reckitt!! Lol ofcourse this news will only accelerate retirement plans for folks in IT. Imagine the most hated leader trying to make a comeback lol.

my back up plan is to wait it out for my package. 16 payroll admins left on the Frito side, it is just a matter of time before they let me go.

I'm saving every dollar I can because the only way out of this sh-tshow is FU money.

Twenty-five years in this business and I've never seen leadership this incompetent and self-serving. PEC is a fu--ing disaster. We can't fix this mess without burning it all down, but we're too chickenshit for that. So instead we get to watch a slow, agonizing corporate death.

How the he-l do you micromanage every trivial decision in S&T so you can award all money you can to your consultant and tech friends, then fu-k off to Greece for three weeks while everything grinds to a halt? And your L1s are so terrified of your tantrums they won't make the simplest calls without you.

This place is broken. The leadership is broken. And we're all just sitting here watching it rot because nobody has the ba--s to call it what it is.
