@19c the board encouraged him to get that. He did not have this when he was first hired.

@19c To be completely clear: He got that degree because he was next in line to be CEO and was told that was contingent on his completing of a degree program.

@18x but he DOES have a degree (check his LinkedIn), and it's from the prestigious Southern New Hampshire University. ;)

@k6 it’s crazy that someone without a degree was hired to be the CEO. It most roles even entry level at CF require a degree.

1 - BP is the poster child for DEI and meritless hiring. How is that going to go over in FLorida? That doesn't seem like a good job fit to me. Gov D doesn't go for that stuff.
2 - I'm hoping that difference makers are letting our friends at Florida Blue know how this guy works. First he'll come for the older employees. Then take away benefits. Ask anyone who has retired from Carefirst <65. We literally have no health insurance. We have to buy on the Market place at $20K a year. A great thanks for 30 years of service in the health insurance business.

@vt I like how on meeting this week, Brian talked about how great CareFirst is doing. If we are doing so great, why are you offloading all this knowledge in an "early out option"? VSP states, can't hire/replace positions for a year, but yet we have openings in the company and even in my area where a bunch of VSP associates are leaving. Since Brian took over, he's been the first CEO who never cared for associates, he has taken lots of benefits from employees, with always putting a spin of "this is a good thing". For whom? Good for him and his 3-million-dollar house he lives in Sparks. Good riddance to him.

@vc another genius move. They really know how to make their employees happy. First they tell you "get lost, you are too expensive". Then when you say "ok", they say "nevermind, we NEED you". F**k right off, CareLess. Do you know what an a-hole of an employee I would be if they rescinded my VSP offer.

The first time I heard him speak in a meeting he thru his new area under the bus. I thought he sounded like a used car salesman my director said he is such a wonderful speaker I wonder how wonderful he was when she was fired after he became ceo the layoffs started immediately. I want to know why we put money into merriweather when there are people on food stamps that have full time jobs at carefirst. Allot of associates have 2 jobs or bankruptcy and he is putting money into a building instead of the associates charity starts at home

@r7 too many took the VSP. They’re going back to determine who to rescind the offers from. Some areas wud be hit too hard with amount of separated employees.

Will DEI go out the door along with his departure ? How many people took the buyout offers? How will the company run if too many have departed ?

Brian P made a mess out of Carefirst! What was Chet and the board thinking hiring a non degree CEO! Maybe they will bring in a high school dropout to finish it! Brought in his people demoting directors down to managers, managers down to supervisors and so on!! Great leadership, you talk a great game but brother you don’t walk it!!! His biggest mistake was when he started in 2019 with the first wave of layoffs, look at the talent he got rid of and it SMACKED him in the face!! Michele Wright brought in the quality talent that was needed, Sandy Dilworth was the backbone of the IT operation and so on and so on. Brian P should give back the salary he stole from CF!!!

@jg Agree with that. It's just that in the past it has been immediately announced that the Board is conducting a search/has plans. I'll give it until October 1.

@jf The board needs to vote on a new CEO. In the past an interim CEO is put in place until the board selects the new CEO.

@d2 Are we even getting a new CEO? It hasn't been said that a search for a replacement is being conducted, just that Ja'Ron will be filling in.

CareFirst has a problem with the executives keeping quiet about things. Like mergers.

As a company CF is a mess thanks to the CEO...now once a new CEO is installed, the associates will have to endure yet a new leadership team, more staff departures, more operational changes, and other types of divisional shuffling. Just an neverending and frustrating game of musical chairs. Too bad associates will be subject to more of the sh-t show merry go round and continue to be taken through the loop. The madness doesn't seem to end. Glad Im gone and out of there.

He is leaving a mess behind him ... First he gets rid of efficient folks and then he disappears ... his Karma will follow him some times

Then leaves the new guy barely anyone has heard of in the interim position. Totally not surprised at all.

YUP, CEO just did a bunch of "early out options" really a fancy name for layoffs and then jumps ship before the backlash.
