Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Firing spree

If you are over 40 and especially if you have over 20 years of service watch your back. Auto injury has been on a firing spree. Mgmt has so many hoops for cs's to jump through now it is impossible to keep up.

It is terrible. They don't want you to deliver the promise and work for the customer. They want you to meet the metrics no matter what so the sm will look good.

@14nzl What happened when you contacted the EEOC? Were they able to help?

This has been going on for at least the last three years and likely five ... I wasn’t aware of people disappearing because we were so busy but then it happened to me and others around me, one by one, long tenured, hard working, previously highly ranked in excellent performance until management intentionally piled on change after change with more work and procedures while removing support staff help and overtime at the same time. I suggest you contact EEOC, and an attorney to weigh your options. Best advise I got was find what you enjoy doing and move on to new endeavors. Don’t let them grind you up. It’s taken me a few years to recover from the physical and emotional harm I let them subject me to during the last year I was there. Glad I’m out. Sorry I put up with such poor treatment and conditions for so long. Not worth sticking it out for possible severance and or retirement.

BI was a hellhole when I left almost three years ago.

I have work/live balance again, better benefits and no longer need my high blood pressure medication because I'm no longer being abuse and gaslit.

@2ohs That was very entertaining to read. Just FYI you’re dead a– wrong.
Your little dream world that State Farm Insurance is the most loyal, ethical company when it comes to their employees is exactly that, a dream world.

Misconduct IS the explanation.

@2htp...Really? What address book are you looking at that has “terminated” by an agent’s name? When an agent or employee leaves the Farm, by whatever method, they simply do not appear in the address book any longer.
No doubt there are agents being terminated. There are also many retiring. And many more being brought on board. I’m an agent in a place that had 4 about 20 years ago. Now there are 9, and they are allowing others to adjacent state license into our market.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see some changes or mass retirements in the next couple of years. Many agents signed on for a different job than the one they are now asked to do, and will move on when they can. That’s just life and business.

Calling BS. Legally I have a big clue on SF process, worked there for a long time. If you are fired from State Farm then you easily had a significant reason to be fired and probably should of been fired way before you were terminated. Sorry, I don’t buy the “they were mean to me excuse.” Legally they are the hardest employer to be terminated in the country. They give way to many chances.

Just remember.....it's ok for them to violate RICO laws, buy their way out of it but don't you dare make mistakes! They hold their minions to the highest moral and ethical standards while mgmt has no moral and ethical boundaries. Be careful and trust none of them. None!

I’m in express and they just fired me. I know of 3 others who were fired for “misconduct” without an explanation this week.
