Rumor is that SM is going to be firing people who don't comply with the mandatory RTO order in Palm Bay the week after the mandate begins...

@18v Have done that too and they don't know either!!! Just being told to be patient and wait for a call or email.
I was blindsided with a layoff about this time last year, and although I am still upset that it happened, I’m much better off now still being able to work remotely.
Plus, if I were still with L3, I would have to return to office with a 30 minute commute each way AND have to see my old snakey micromanaging former supervisor every day.
@18p so you can't talk to a manager.. fine... you can take initiative to contact atleast one HRBP.... Or a colleague to find a name. An HRBP contact is literally in "My Profile" on your Nexus. It's on you to put in some effort instead of being a sitting duck to be laid off. Honestly maybe they want it to be confusing for people that need their hand held so they can be let go....
@15e ...We were told one thing in a meeting, but Org Chart is not reflecting what was told to us. Was told to not follow Org Chart as HR has not updated it correctly. Still under our current TL, but know that will be changing. Some people have been called from new TL and some have not. Some have received emails from HR saying where location is, some have not. It's Thursday and still don't know where to report on Monday.
It likely means before March 16th, not after. You're probably already RIFd.
Huh? You don't know your GL, EM, HRBP, or can't open the OrgChart, or write a basic email, or walk over to the nearest person?
@133 if you really don't have a reporting manager, just reach out to your HRBP
Anyone told they go back to work on March 16, but have not been told what building to report to what floor they are at or what desk is assigned? Are we all supposed to show up at Palm Bay and hang out in the lobby or do we go to each floor to find our name on a seat? Also, don't even know who our direct report manager is. Such a disaster!!!
@zz to my knowledge, if you live in brevard and are designated remote you are being called to the Palm Bay site, regardless of what site you actually support. No option for severance.
Which sites had designated remote that were told to return onsite?
Were there any offers for severance?
@zt I live near the Palm Bay site but I’ve never supported any programs at that facility
Greenville rumor is 125 mechanics
35 from assembly
Machinist next round 20
Logistics next round at 80
Facilities at 25 next round
Who knows maybe more 😃
@yy do you know if there’s any news on which departments will be affected? I’ve mostly hear rumors about the hanger being affected.
@zj what site are you at that they are changing your remote designation?
@z3 I’m designated as remote and told my designation is being changed to on-site
@z5 one for those set to return was sent out in mid February saying to be in the office starting 3/16
Has an official email been sent out?
@ys it felt directed at people assigned in office and not those designated as remote.
Greenville is doomed so don’t worry about working there
Big layoff on the way any day
Please find another job
Hope this helps 😃
Welp, there you have it. Right out of the horse's mouth. RTO is happening.
@sq I’m 96 miles from the closest L3 office. They had better offer me a severance if they do this…
RTO for all SMS? Even those designated as "Remote"? What about those who don't live near their work location? Do they have to move? Anyone have a timeline for the rollout of ALL SMS? What about Greenville?
@fk I know for a fact that people who were hired remote and live in brevard are getting called back in. You would have gotten an email if you were expected to return (may just be the space segment being affected right now). The firings are a rumor.
@en is this a fact or a rumor? Was there an announcement? What about people hired remote who have never worked in the office
@es - RTO is all about, they hope people will quit on their own, so there is less people to RIF. There will be a whole bunch of nasty little things that they’re gonna do to you to make sure you leave on your own accord, if RTO doesn’t get enough to leave.
There literally are not enough offices for everyone to return. The id--t who came up with this idea should have thought that we have grown 25% since we last were all together and we were close to capacity then. R5 and CHQ have people sitting in server rooms/labs since there is no space available.
RTO will be rolling out for all SMS.
Any word if this will apply to all segments/all remote workers? Any timeline? How long did they give them to be onsite for the Brevard mandate? Any severance or other arrangements offered?
Was the Brevard RTO mandate sent to everyone no matter the segment? CHQ as well?
Your only choices are to comply or quit. I don't see this as all that complicated. The company has the last word. They decide the terms of your employment unless you have a contract.
@d1 remote employees? Does that mean all the people that got made remote when they closed LA?
@d1 - Wow. That place will be a micromanagers dream. I wonder how long it will take people to start looking for other job opportunities.
@d1 how much notice did they give them??!
@c8 every remote brevard employee has to start working in the HTC by 3/16
@by what is the mandate?
@ad the is specifically in regards to the brevard mandate
When does the RTO mandate begin? What are the affected sites? What is different than the current RTO situation which impacts all of Brevard?
