Post Stock Award Fallout

Anyone heading out after this stock vests? Hearing some folks in GSC likely leaving… Surprised that department is still functioning. Seems like a revolving door.

How many leaving

How many folks are leaving this year? Happens every year around this time (right after bonus / stocks vesting)....

Reminder

Marathon sucks. Terrible company with terrible leadership. Eagle Ford is the only asset and it’s dead on the vine. This can be seen by us having to make the recent acquisition just to keep the lights on. Decline curves are insane. Inventory is... — read more

What’s this?

I hear about Devon sniffing around? Our footprints align pretty close, will they make a bid for us? We are lean and that’s prime for acquisition.

EF Acquisition!!!

Here we go folks. Ensign Natural Resources, $3 billion, 100k+ acres, 600 future locations. We knew something had to happen. In Tillman, we trust.

Accent Counts

If not working already at MRO, then do not, UNLESS you speak with a British accent. Incompetent, but highly political Brits dominate the landscape, as LT cannot understand Americans.

Sub $80 oil

Can’t wait for GSC to come forward this week and tell us costs have to go down. It’s almost like they don’t understand supply / demand and also that nat gas is $7.

Bonus and Company Fund Health Care

Interesting that no one posts when MRO gives out an out of cycle bonus and makes the decision to pay for employee health care premiums thru 2023

They don't care about the best people leaving

Majority of the most skilled and experienced workers have already left. It is surprising that the management does not seem to mind that the remaining talented people are leaving as well. Do they even think about the future of this company? Are... — read more

A Warning on BD and Exploration

I’m gone now, but I want to warn people thinking about going into the BD side about one of the VPs involved there who is also the chief geo - don’t do it. The guy will stab you in the back faster than you can count to three. He has an ego the size... — read more

This is where I started to hate my job

Management is awful. People are leaving because of bad management. This is no complaint, this is bitter criticism. I’m certainly not the only one who has started to hate her job here, precisely because of poor management. Will bad management ever... — read more

Why is there a constant threat of layoffs?

While everyone is talking about possible layoffs and while a substantial amount of fear is present among the employees, the reality is that we have never been this much overworked and in need of new employees. Are layoffs really an option for the... — read more

LTI reinstated for Grade 12&13

Thanks for not valuing all your employees that used to get the LTI. I make less and spend more driving yet I get zero. Hey MRO maybe you should let your lower paid employees catch a damn break. Heartbroken today.

My workload is almost tripled

Without any exaggeration, I do almost enough work for three people. I don't know anyone whose workload hasn't increased drastically. Of course I am looking for a new job because it seems that MRO does not intend to reduce the workload. How do you... — read more

Corporate’s right!?!?

Why is it that the decisions the corporate leadership teams have made haven’t has a larger impact on turnover? They have layoffs and double/triple your workload and responsibilities. They reduce your total compensation (if your not a grade 14) by... — read more

Power is their ultimate goal

I left the company due to the privileged taking advantage of the worker bees. The executives are all about lining their pockets before the whole thing collapses around them. You see the yearly salaries these people make, not earn. If they were really... — read more

How valuable is experience here?

I have more than 14 years of experience here. Unfortunately, I think that my experience is being valued less and less. It is also humiliating to see how much more valued are those who often don't even know what they are doing. Is the experience... — read more

Executive Compensation

Executive compensation is published as part of the shareholder material for the annual meeting. Go read through the packet they sent you. In the meantime, enjoy these numbers as you think about how your benefits have been cut and harsh layoffs. Glad... — read more

What a Week

It looks like “The Wave” now stands for the wave of petrotechs leaving the company. I heard of 4 in total this week and know of many others looking. It will be interesting to see if MRO steps up and actually makes an effort to retain anyone left.

What to expect here?

I'm debating whether to accept an offer with slightly worse pay but better benefits. If only I knew that it won't get any worse here. What to expect, changes for the better or changes for the worse here?

Shareholders

How many times will LT say “shareholders” in the Q1 earnings call?

nice to get LTIP

Would have been nice to get LTIP. Most lowers grade employees are not valued and are not given LTIP. Seeing how much the stock has gone up thats a lot of $ that could have gone to the employees. But hey it's ok going to another company that values... — read more

How will they replace all these people?

Even the average employees will not be easy to replace, not to mention the best ones who are leaving. I wasn't at all surprised at how many of my colleagues have resigned. Fortunately, I will not be here to see who will replace such skilled... — read more

Fallout Headcount

Resignations have already started. Will be interested to see who stays and who goes. I'll leave you with these words - "We aren't concerned about recruiting or retention. We just had a round of layoffs. Be happy you have a job" PW - Feb. 2020 — read more

Raise that's kept pace with inflation

Just quick question: do you know any company in this industry, or any company in general, that has given their employees raises that have kept pace with inflation?

Bonuses today, stocks vest Tuesday

Bonuses should be hitting your bank accounts today or tomorrow. What's left from previous stocks (those below grade 14), will vest Tuesday. Notices going in Tuesday after markets close or Wednesday?
