I hear that next week there are going to be lots of layoffs. Is that true?

They are giving out very short notice but you'd probably know by now if they are going to announce your layer this Friday.

Do managers already know if they are going to be laid off but are keeping it a secret? is the next round the final round of layoffs?

It was the internal referral system. They were trying to help you by finding you a new spot and tipping you off that your old spot was no longer.

Stop being paranoid, your manager has no way to know that you are applying within the company unless he knows people in HR

More layoffs announced yesterday along with the odd "retirement" some good people being let go. Funny how they seem to be concentrated on the long term employees guess its a lot cheaper to keep some 25 year old then a 50 year old.

I was recently let go from Manulife. I was going to volunteer at the LPGA but have withdrawn. Instead I will join the protest. Can someone let me know when it is or what we need to do to prepare.
