Topics regarding layoffs at Intel Corp.

Intel has been a Great Place To Work for years. Now it is trying to shake things up and bring back an edge to the company.

Intel has a unique culture among tech firms. It is very political and usually looks more inwards than outwards. Its culture is so dominant it has failed in all of its past acquisitions. No matter how great the aquired company was, the "Culture" has... — read more

The latest emission from Crashin'Itch

Let's see, according to Crashin'Itch, Intel will focus on 3 areas of IoT: Autonomous vehicles. Well, this is certainly a burgeoning market segment, sure to pull Intel from it's funk, like tomorrow. Industrial. I spent a good bit of my career in... — read more

Perspective: If it really was a sh*tty company full of B*stard, racist, misogynous managers, why would anyone complain about leaving?

It seems to me it's probably a great place to work and they have tough standards. Sure, choosing people to be let go sucks. You may disagree with the criteria, but business layoff people and sometimes there is no criteria, albeit bad criteria. Quit... — read more

Intel has lots of dead weight

I work in TD and let me tell you, there is a ton of dead weight floating around. People writing worthless good catches. Fluff projects that don't contribute to anything except a focal bullet. How long until Intel has to get rid of people who would... — read more

Need VSP...Can I request?

I have gotten Successful+SSL3 last three years including 2016. I was hoping to get VSP, but no news yet. By the Intel key dates website, VSP emails won't go out now. By the OregonLive, I do not satisfy ISP criterion either. So confused and anxious! I... — read more

For those of you blaming it on H1Bs...

We've had a couple of our H1Bs let go, one of which was specifically relocated here from an Intel site in India due to his wealth of experience in a very specific area. They're not just targeting the white guys.

Directors Levels and above Grades 9-11??

When are they going to start looking at Director level and above that are not adding value and contributing to the bottom line? What about the groups that make no money for the last 10 years? Do they even give grade 9-11 even qualify for SSL4 and... — read more

When is HR getting downsized?

Richard Taylor is the director of HR at Intel and has 6000 people under him. Why does an engineering company like Intel need that many? They don't affect the bottom line. Seems like an easy place to cull a few thousand heads.

SSL level or RSU grant check?

For someone on sabbatical and so oblivious to all these developments, what is the best way to check the SSL level for 2016? I have been away to get my focal pay letter and the UBS website still does not look updated with 2016 RSU grants.

VSPs, not many posts about them....odd?

It's a little odd that we don't see many posts about VSP on here. Does that mean that there were not many VSPs given? the criteria of four consecutive SSL3 and more than 2x median in grade level seems very tight. Maybe it's the accurate criteria and... — read more
