Contact with your ex-colleagues still inside? Your experience?
I don't hold it against any of them, but it is like a door slamming shut.
Finding a career elsewhere before it is too late
For those inside Intel. Have you considered looking for a career now or soon elsewhere? Staying longer at Intel will depreciate you in the marketplac. Especially for the younger crowd, you know a career at Intel is impossible due to the lack of... — read more
9k + 6 months Cobra
I took VSP and the 9k instead of 18months cobra. Is that 9k heavily taxed? I only ended up with a deposit of 5300. For some reason I thought that 9k would not be taxed, and would be using that money to pay for insurance in 2017.
Just got off the phone with a recruiter. She asked twice me why I am unemployed for so long and if there is any reason.
as if I am the only person who is looking for job. I felt very uncomfortable. Though I had no problem answering this kind of questions. I think it is getting me .. need a break or start over, or engage in something new.

BK can't fix macro economics, he should concentrate on making Intel great again, and that isn't about demographics!

Intel to announce higher revenue expectations on Friday
This will conveniently coincide with iPhone launch
Current employee morale in sinking Fabs
I remember ten years ago when Intel kept successfully beating the competition to the next node and was ahead by 3-4 years. It was like a competition. After first silicon was completed, employees who actually contributed to this accomplishment were... — read more

More Mind Games?
Now the idiot managers are telling their people they should feel "privileged" to be working for Intel.

Question regarding certifications after leaving Intel
After the lay-offs, I've been to a number of job fairs and there is always a company present that says they provide education toward most types of industry certifications such as green belt, PMP, etc. You can pay for the training by federal grant for... — read more
What I lost leaving Intel
I finally left Intel with VSP. Extremely happy with my decision. Here is a list of things I lost directly related to Intel work. -Paycheck and benefits. (got most of that back finding a low stress .gov job.) -Major health problems caused by working... — read more
Wanna find out what's still going on inside? Have lunch at a place frequented by Intel employees!
The eavesdropping is fun. I've heard several convos about more layoffs, about continuing managerial stupidity, about BK-isms, about technical FUBARs, and ERPers coming back as green badges almost immediately. ACT was a joke.
Don't forget to use your ERP health resources.
I am finding new options via (Oregon) Connected Care Providence via COBRA. Now that I am retired (even though not entirely voluntarily) I'm taking more advantage of health and wellness coaching, and EAP. Excited to be trying yoga and Tai Chi very... — read more

Diversity hiring
I can't believe the micromanagement that's taking place to try to reach the diversity hiring goals for 2016. The majority of the best diverse talent has already been hired for 2016. This micro management is just going to make people upset. In my... — read more
Anyone else who took ERP receive their $2.00 picture frame with a thank you note in it from BK?
I think it cost Intel more to ship the item then what they purchased it for. At least in the letter inside the box that the frame was shipped in stated that our debit card would be loaded with $300.00. I checked and it has yet to be loaded. Thanks... — read more
Comments about Lee Hecht Harrison bogus service
As you know, anyone receiving ISP and those accepting ERP or VSP receive the "benefit" of an outplacement service for 6 months. In this case, Lee Hecht Harrison. So far, it's been a joke. I've found the service to be more along the lines of social... — read more
An example of smoke and mirrors and why BK and BOD get F and should be fired!
This post got me thinking https://www.thelayoff.com/t/JnoGy2Q CEO should be fixing TMG to get back on the Moore's Law cadence. Figure out and restructure the company to be faster and more lean to compete with the Far East design houses and Foundrys... — read more

What does ACT stands for?
Just curious about what ACT stands for.
Tick Tock the core of Intel excellence had been taken my TSMC. BK and TMG cronies need to be fired!
Intel was the envy semiconductor world for the last decade having made revolutionary changes like strained silicon, Hik metal gates and finfets. The past few years haven't been pretty as the clock work tick Tock has slipped as Intel product launches... — read more
