"My job got axed, Ed Rust Jr > Michael Tipsord, 'it ain't like the old days', bring back my regional office"- (eating popcorn) these rants are always HILARIOUS to read.

Congratulations on finding a job at another company- if you're still in the insurance business however and you're NOT at State Farm then, well, "there be monsters" sir LOL. Literally HALF of the people I know that left us 'cause we are SO bad' have tried coming back- some successfully. #GrassGreener My friend's wife (IWU grad, minority, bilingual) left a management job here in December- now seven months later she's already scrambling to find another new employer.

State Farm is an insurance company who's ONLY responsibility is to its policyholders in paying claims. It is not assumed, written, stated, or guaranteed that State Farm employs every man woman and child to the bitter end no matter how 'bad for business' your job has become. To think that way would make you 'delusional' and childish. If you were treated unfairly then you should have sought-out an HR rep, the courts are at your disposal. End of the day, man-up or shut-up.

State Farm isn't Social Security. Stop thinking like entitled @sshats! Let me tell you, policyholders will NOT keep subsidizing 6 figure salaries for 'group-slouching'. Every department has had to undergo NECESSARY CHANGE, you aren't the first and you won't be the last. Just because you know COBAL, or went to IWU, or 'your great great grandad Otto settled this area' does not make you immune to self-preservation, hard work, learning new things, and a 'can-do' spirit. Take after Otto lol, although who the he-l would want to settle here is beyond me and maybe the apple didn't fall far from the tree of inherited delusionality? Food for thought. Verstehen mich? lol

SO much entitlement in central Illinois to think that cruising for 20+ years to retirement is 'normal'. Umm, this isn't the 50's. The long and the short of it 'in Bloomington' is there are thousands of employees who ride coat tails, make good money for the market, and are delusional enough to come onto an internet thread blaming everyone and everything else for their woes.

Central Illinoisans (aka 'homing pigeons') are the LAST people to embrace change (A German farming, passive aggressive, covertly racist society), own-up to their mistakes/problems and take ownership of their lives (see every other comment on here), or demand more from themselves and their community (ISU athletics, potholes, high taxes, failing schools, etc.) - I'm from Bloomington I can say that.

I get your frustrations, but folks, look at yourself in the mirror- take ownership of your life. It isn't State Farm, or your spouse, your kids, elected officials, or ISU athletics lol- it's YOU. Make your own change.

Learn new skills, take new risks, and stop blaming everyone else (Robert Yi!?! LOL)- don't be an AmeriCAN'T. I followed my own advice, took a risk in myself, said yes to some crazy things, self-improved, and repelled the lethargy/entitlement of Central Illinois that I myself once had. Since 2014 when the 'light came on' I've MORE THAN QUADRUPLED my salary, left a PARA-PROFESSIONAL role in department that ended-up getting chopped a few years later (karma), live on a snobby golf course, eying early retirement, and have a GREAT plan B... I blame Tipsord every time I'm in my pool with a mai tai in hand.

I'm still accepting more mentees!
