None laid off. We are in this together, they aren’t. Any insight on their plans to rearrange the chairs in the Titanic.
sad news but happy for humbling the XOM ego!
sorry but I am just venting a bit of my repressed feelings when I was laid off from XOM back in 2013. the industry was in a very decent shape back then... It was a tremendous bummer for me, not only for loosing a good job, but for the lack of... — read more

Pension lump for early career terminees?
Asking this question for my fellow early career folks out there. I believe there was a thread not too long ago discussing that there was an option for terminees during this involuntary layoff wave to take a lump sum of their current pension... — read more

What's this I hear about layoffs at ExxonMobil? Are the rumors true?
Can anyone verify if Exxon is laying people off?
When will they learn
I see the company announced they will double earnings by 2027. When will they learn. Quit making dumb announcements. Just get to work and don’t make promises you can’t keep.
LinkedIn Seeking Work Post Likes by BTC Staff
Posted that I am looking for work and have several likes from BTC engineers who are now doing my work. Feels a bit odd. I’m sure they mean well. Would have preferred the “support” icon rather than “like”. I guess I’m feeling sensitive.
Cut the Dividend, Keep the Workers
It is the definition of insanity to keep borrowing money to pay this crazy high dividend all while laying people off. https://techstaffer.blog/2020/12/02/will-exxonmobil-cut-its-dividend-in-january/
They will lose everyone
I was both a manager and in the executive ranks with high performance reviews. I was axed yesterday. My downfall was my age I believe. I was probably one of the youngest in the exec ranks. I think there were too many untouchables (52+) in my grouping... — read more
Did I get this right?

RSU’s when laid off
Has any information been shared on what happens to unvested RSU’s when you’re laid off (not that they’re worth much these days).
Lawsuit for emotional distress
According to some lawyers in Houston there is most likely a case against XOM for the way they have handled the layoffs. The courts recognize emotional distress as a type of damage that can be recovered through a civil lawsuit. This means you can sue... — read more

Has this happened to anyone else?
So I was given a 1:1 with my boss, he gave me the whole spiel. He also told me that I'll have to work for the next 2 months and I may be required to train another employee. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel like I might be expected to train... — read more

March Layoffs = Performance Assessments
In a hope to quell some fake news, I think the March layoff rumor is being conflated with the news that we will be PIPing 5-10% annually for the foreseeable future. This has been confirmed from the lips of an executive. I don’t think there will be... — read more

Why do XOM executives get bonuses when they are doing such bad jobs !
They have damaged XOM reputations by making wrong moves and late moves. They suspend employees bonuses and lay off so many employees and still keep giving them bonuses that they don't deserve. Don't they have any pride left ?
Why isn't there more official info on this?
There is so much guessing and unnecessary stressing. I actually thought the company handled this well so far, just to completely drop the ball in the end. Keep us informed on what's going on! How hard can that be?
