If you have a breakthrough idea of commercial value

and your idea does not involve use of any company resource. Would you rather quit XOM and start your own company with the idea, or would you commercialize the idea with XOM? Are people rewarded for commercialization within XOM?

XOM Involuntary Separation Benefits

When the XOM Houston layoffs were announced, a certain Upstream president boldly bragged about the benefits being better than those of the competitors. Is that true? Usually what comes out of their mouths is half truths at best.

I have to ask

How many people will Exxon have to hire to replace those who were let go once the time comes? Considering that so many of the best employees were laid off, it won't be that easy to find replacements on their level. My guess is they'll have to hire... — read more

401K - cashing out at 50. (The Forehead Man)

Stupidly let a 20-year 401K lay easy and took my 7% match in kind. But it was anything but kind. At one point, XOM was 70% of this nest-egg. At 50, will be about 45%. All in one year. Price of a house. Cashing out if some more s—ers punch... — read more

Did I make the right choice?

In 2018, I was offered a role at Exxonmobil UK in Leatherhead as a graduate in the LNG team. I didn't take the offer as I had a massive fall out with a friend who got rejected after the internship at XOM and for some reason hated me because I was... — read more

Meritocracy at it's best

Better adjust your mindset now

Hypocrisy is endlessly complaining about a company you call inept and corrupt, yet complaining because they can’t give you a job for life. Name one oil company that did not have layoffs last year. You can’t. Name one company that doesn’t enforce... — read more

Red Flags at Exxon Mobil (2016)

This analysis was written in 2016 and while it contains bias, many of the comments are truthful. Most of us are loyal to a fault, but is this company showing signs of the next Enron? Greed & fear drove that company's demise. Is XOMs fate the same?... — read more
