If Weaponized PIP helps so much…..

If Weaponized PIP is so refreshing and beneficial to EM, then 8% of all Managers and Executives should be judged NSI. Some think our Management are made up of top performers but it is a fact that at least 25% of managers and executives are dead... — read more

Weaponized PDS Continues

The company continues to use the PDS to layoff employees. But they keep repeating that it’s not about getting rid of employees but just part of our continuous improvement process to help employees get better. They even state that most people that... — read more

And the farce begins… PDS time

After my PDS last year, I really wonder why I’m spending any time filling it out this year. Seems like management will do as they please, even ignoring KO feedback and supervisor input. This place is a real case for MBA programs to study. There is so... — read more

Dear Management Work from Home is Human Need

Dear Employers, We don't want to go back to the office full-time. We save so much time without the commute. And we see our family more. If you don't let us work from home, another company will. Sincerely, The Global Workforce

Employee Refresh. How refreshing.

Best quote of Uncon forum today was hearing management describe benefit of PIP and attrition as a way to refresh the workforce.

Ask yourself this

What are you doing today, you, yes you, to make sure BK remains at the helm of EMIT and gets compensated his bonus this year? Lets come together as one and help BK, our SUPREME leader, now more than ever. Im sure he would do the same for us. So what... — read more

Assessment Strategies

Do you rank people transferring out of your group? What is best way to do assessment as a supervisor?

Reward the ones that perform all the real work

Isn't it a shame that a company that flags the biggest profit in 13 years due to surging oil prices, doesn't reward employees who mostly do double workloads here? I just read that Q1 results may have been as much as $2 billion higher than earnings... — read more

Churn

They sure do love to move the senior executives around. I guess that is one way to not take ownership of failures you set in motion.

PIP question

Do people who are let go after a PIP get unemployment or not?

We Are ExxonMobil

Integrity: Tells investors there will be no layoffs while planning layoffs Care: Let's lay off USA employees right before Christmas Courage: Never admit a mistake. Always blame the "great resignation" Excellence: Don't pay for top talent but act... — read more

Numbers on a spreadsheet

I keep wondering what can make employees more valuable at EM. How to be of value to the company? Because, having expertise alone, judging by my experience, definitely doesn’t help anyone become indispensable here.

Good luck not finding anything

What hotshot decided it was a great idea to put the search bar at the absolute bottom of the homepage? It’s like we don’t even try anymore.

BTC layoffs

Hire 100, NSI 10, NI 20 No trqining, no support, poor comp, bare minimum benefits - a sweatshop Expats cost is more than rest of employees, spending time here doing nothing except making insensitive jokes, because they are here on vacation. How... — read more

Ranking system explained

It is pretty simple. It is a forced distribution. Everyone can’t be Outstanding. 20% must be NI and 5% NSI. Those ranked low will villanize their supervisor and complain that someone else on their team should have been ranked low and they should have... — read more

ExxonMobil should not exist

A company like Exxon, where pathetic non-productive behavior and zero risk/innovative behavior is rewarded, should be eliminated

Special lump sum pension payoff

Anyone know what is so special about the "Special lump sum pension payment offer coming soon " I got mail notofocation about today ?

They always find something

Now I wonder what they will find to say that my performance was not good enough. Even if I did all my work perfectly, Exxon would find something wrong with it. That's how it goes here. They do their best to come up with one such little thing to... — read more

Have they completely eliminated layoffs?

All I keep hearing about are PIPs, barely anybody mentions layoffs anymore. It would make sense since layoffs cost them money through severance and unemployment. PIPs end in firings, which might cost them unemployment, depending on the state, and... — read more

Happy Monday hotshots

Hello, your friend BK here, just wanted to remind you all that no matter how hard you try you will never be capable of doubling your salary out there. If you think you can, then good luck hotshot

Rank your team and share with supervisor

My supervisor asked my team to force rank our team including identify who should be NSI, NI, etc. She said she would use it as input like KO feedback. Good or bad idea? I bet everyone on the team puts themself as Outstanding.

Free gas

Just curious, Am I the only one who tells their neighbors I get free gas because I am an employee? It’s fun to watch them react.

Overpaid for Brazil Leases

I heard we waaay overpaid for our dry ho-e leases in Brazil. Anyone know how much more we paid than the second place bid? Anyone being PIPd for wasting all that money?

XOM salary adjusted x inflation

I calculated my xom salary adjusted by inflation. It' been flat since 2014. 14 years in the company. Two CL promotions. I have always been ranked in the middle.

Pension? What pension?

Exxon has no intention to get rid of the pension because we will never have to pay it. We PIP you at year 13 or 14 so the pension costs us nothing. On paper we are one of the few companies offering a pension, but financially it costs us nothing. We... — read more
