Years…

It would take years to replace international manufacturing in the US, plus there are no workers here for those jobs. You think US employers are going to pay US wages for that work… ? Clearly not when we’re all continuing to outsource... — read more

Incompetent CIO

What a disaster hire. MKW, EB, BK, MN… and now RB, his new boss, might shrug this CES off as poor because it’s layoff time, morale is low, and think that’s the reason. A lot of the same comments on this site will probably show up in the CES... — read more

Capital projects… really?

GM’s announced for capital projects… same as before. And can you guess… MM in the mix! The guy has done nothing in projects, got kicked out of CNE, yet gets a GM job rather than showing the door. That calls in question TK’s biases and decision... — read more

Question

I’m convinced my department has a secret policy of promoting the most incompetent people imaginable. One senior manager is the absolute worst—no skills, no experience, no clue how anything actually works. Just spews corporate buzzwords like "synergy"... — read more

Go down fighting

If we are going to get outsourced go out fighting. Contact your reps or the media. Embarrass Chevron if needed. Don't train your replacement. "Fight Fight Fight"

When are cuts actually coming…..

So the next layer of the org chart came out earlier this week. In my BU really no news except a different job title, but no cuts at all. Guess they are saving those for the “worker bees” on the low end of the salary chain

Get Out Now

If you're thinking about getting out and have a job offer somewhere else, do it. Is the EOI going to last through the job hunt with hundreds of other ex-CVX, XOM and Apache employees looking too? I walked away from 6 months salary to take an offer in... — read more

The How matters

Many of us are finding out that other resources are taking over when new people pop up in our calls. No communication or heads up. Shows lack of respect for people. There is no common courtesy any more. So, yeah, be brutal on the CES survey.

Be BRUTAL- CES coming soon

The brainiacs at the top think next week is good to send out CES and have a safety stand down. Be brutally honest on CES. Don’t hold back. They need to know how bad this place really is.

Done waiting for severance

I’m done waiting around for this place to cut me loose. Staying here just ki-ls my self-respect - watching this company flail while pretending everything’s fine. I don't even care if I'll be earning as much somewhere else - the stress simply isn’t... — read more

Why all the negativity

Listen, everyone needs to just calm down about the re-org. It’s going to be different this time. But I know what you’re thinking, it the same leaders as last time, with the same game plan. But they’ll get it right this time okay. And if they don’t... — read more

Challenges in exploration

I heard that we spent millions to work with MSFT to build the exploration AI model. I heard that we spent hundreds of millions buying new data. Will the new leadership turn things around? What are the key challenges in our exploration?

Waiting for positions to roll out

Revealing one org layer at a time isn’t helpful. We need to see how many positions are where they are located to understand the impact. Anyone have insight to that? Should be soon. Good luck to the managers that actually look out for their people... — read more

Who is out next in Wells?

Who stays and who goes for the following: MCBU RBU SJVBU CTC Ops Managers, Superintendents, Advisors, Team Leads? Drop initials!

Talk about a proximity bias

The GM’s announcement was underwhelming; lots of same people who are already working with named VPs, etc. How is anything going to change?

Deepwater

I didn’t see PC, the deepwater director, in the new announcement. He is a decent guy.

>20% have A-EOI'ed

With more than expected people accepting EOI from RBU, GOM, CTC; it looks like we will need to start hiring sooner rather than later

IT

umm okay, how does CE go from managing ops in GOM to IT GM

CIO announcement 28-30

With the background that LC, KG, and LM (now fired) having never managed an IT ecosystem with the global scope as large as Chevron, LC has just hooked up his friend to a PSG 29 role to manage IT Operations, which is mostly MSP and outsourced... — read more

Homeless people wearing Chevron shut down shirts!

I don’t know if it’s true, but a frag just informed me that a manager was having dinner in downtown this weekend. He mentioned that he saw several homeless people wearing clothing that appear to be from the refinery in El Segundo. It appears that... — read more

Why take a year? Consultant fees.

Transformation was done in one go. How is this more complicated like HR said? It’ll be torture for Wave 2 folks. Plus standing up orgs that aren’t complete. McK or EY probably recommended to drag out their fees. Well done, well done. See you... — read more

Health Insuraunce

How long do you think it will be before we are able re-evaluate the sh-t insurance choices California pushed on US employees?
