Project manager who blew 100 million

How in the world does a Project Manager who blew over one hundred million dollars on a project still have a job at Chevron. This bozo lied about the status of the project and gave -2 scores to anybody who told him the project was going to fail. What... — read more

Peter principle at chevron

Sounds familiar? Rather than seeking to promote a talented "super-competent" junior employee, Peter suggested that an incompetent manager may set them up to fail or dismiss them because they are likely to "violate the first commandment of... — read more

Time to get medieval

It's time to bring justice to the bureaucratic middle management bureaucrats who have worked so hard to reward their useless pets while stiffing the people who actually do the work. Behind closed doors they are looking at ways to stiff you and... — read more

GATOR IS DEAD!

With great wisdom the leadership team of GOM has killed GATOR. Those insulated in the golden towers so easily forget the blood and lives that caused the need for this. Blood will flow in GOM, lives will be lost, and somehow Chevron will explain away... — read more

Chevron Warn Notice

Why would Chevron have activated the warn notice for Louisiana and not forTexas?

How does one know if they are "Deadwood"?

If you listen to some here, simply being in scope means that you are deadwood, but I think it takes a poor thought process to come to that conclusion. Are you exempt from being deadwood if you are rated a 1? How about a +2? Perhaps we will not know... — read more

In Scope 1's

I've heard of a few people that were ranked a 1 for last year yet they were notified that they are in scope... Doesn't that seem like an oxymoron? With a 1 ranking, shouldn't these individuals have a positive attitude going into the ESP? Or should... — read more

Cox Coverup

The Cox Project is a coverup for a real project, Project Procyon, that Chevron has been working on involving Interstellar Travel. They have built new facilities on the gulf coast, Covington, and Australia that when triangulated will allow teams of... — read more

The Oil Buisness

The oil business has always had up, then down cycles. During the down cycles people get laid off - a fact. If your lucky enough to stay with Chevron for 20, or 30 years this won't be the last down turn you see. If this volatility is too much for your... — read more

GOM SUPPLY CHAIN GOLF OUTING

I wonder who's giving GC and SM another free golf outing today? DNOW, CRAIG, or REDMAN I'm sure it's one of them.

GOM Sell

Tuesday has come and gone. Where's the person who said the deal was to be completed yesterday? Hahaha, that's what I thought. Keep WD, MP and VK flowing. Because it's still for Chevron.

Background Check Inquiries?

Is anyone familiar with how background checks work when finding a new job, going back to schools, etc.? Do they usually contact corporate HR? BU HR Partner? Supervisor? I am taking this industry downward cycle to go back for my Master's. I have been... — read more

Greetings fellow ROMulans

How is everyone on this fine Chevron day? I have decided to start calling us ROMulans and see if the name sticks. What do you think? ROMulans from the Enterprise. We could have some fun with this. At the very least, it is better than Deadwood. I... — read more

How many of you are planning to leave the oil/gas industry to find a position doing what you're doing now in the medical sector? Any information technology folks planning to leave for the IT positions in major hospitals around Houston?

So where did profits go?

so what about all the profits from the years where they were killing it and oil prices from 90-110 bucks? did they just blow it? there is no reason to layoff that many people

Have surgery while employed, or wait until after ESP

We are not deadwood!!

Price in the 30s will prevail at least 5 more years. Chevron has bet the entire operation on the hope that things turn much sooner.

Chevron cannot outlast this storm paying the dividend. Even not paying the dividend, we are vulnerable. Nthe Moody's downgrade is only a sign of things to come. When we are unable to divest assets, the pressure inreases. The divestmest goal of... — read more

Did anyone get a merit raise?

Just wondering if anyone got a merit raise. I haven't had my meeting yet, but so far I haven't heard of anyone else getting a raise. Of course, a 0% raise sure beats unemployment.
