Chevron Salaries
What's a typical finance role salary to start at Chevron? Should I expect or ask for $75k entry level? if not, could I get $75k-100k pretty easy?
The great resignation
I am thinking about pulling the plug on my career. I was planning to hold out a few more years to hit 25 years with Chevron (and full health care coverage points), but this never ending “transition” has sapped my enthusiasm and I have all the money I... — read more

Chevron Layoffs 2021
Do you think Chevron will have layoffs coming soon? I don't want to sign a job offer with them right after college, if I am going to end up being laid off within 2-4 years. I really love Chevron, but don't want to risk my career since its super... — read more
Rehiring former employees
I made a slightly risky decision to accept an offer in a company that I'm not sure whether it will be much better for me. It may turn out to be much better there, but also maybe not, because it is something completely different than what I have done... — read more
Pets at work!
One of the options being studied to soften the blow of returning to the office is permitting pets. Amazon does this and many other large companies are starting to do it. There would be rules involved, of course, but looks like we may be able to... — read more
Permian reorg
Sigh - what’s left to reorg? Why?
Social Security Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for 2022 is 5.9%
With a 5.9% COLA to Social Security monthly checks in 2022……do you think Chevron will follow suit? The pension incorporates the SS COLA in the calculation so it only obvious that we should get the 5.9 + performance for our yearly raise. Thoughts? — read more
Nepotism alive and well…
One would think that nepotism doesn’t exist in corporate America, but one would be naive to believe such garbage. Case in point - BH, new VP of CNE (4 pay grade increases in five years) is the niece of former CEO DO. Apparently her time in Sing... — read more

To Chevron fans - the many of you I see here all the time
Are you suffering from a horrible case of Stockholm syndrome? I don't understand people who keep defending the company and calling it a great place to work...on a layoffs page. If it's that great, what are you doing here? Or are layoffs a part of... — read more
Expat Benefits To Be Slashed
Supposedly HR is working with all country managers on a drastic reduction in expat benefits - housing, goods, travel, schools, etc. The idea is that with so much competition for so few slots, the benefits are way more generous than required. ... — read more

Post layoff life insurance ??????

Less flexibility then before COVID.
Curious to see if anyone else is seeing less flexibility in their work schedule (such as 4/10 not being honored) or very strict office hours. Seems like the maximum flexibility that was spoken about repeatedly has gone by the way side.
Time for Change HR?

If you read the Corp Exec bios, most were hired by Chevron. There four or five Unocal alumni and only one heritage Texaco. The Texacoids have essentially been run off and kept out of management. The Chevron people always looked down on them.
