Has nothing to do with cheaper or efficiency. The in-house guys put up much better numbers at a better price. The problems is that you carry them as employees. That is not something shreholders want to see.
It all depends on cost
It all depends on cost. What would be beneficial to hiring brokers and training them on proprietary programs so the can bill $100-$200 more per day. If its cheaper to use in-house or company field landman then there is your answer.
