100+ cut - MetLife Bloomfield

They just lost a few big customers and I hear more are leaving both small and large. I would not be surprised if there are layoffs

I heard that there will be a big round of layoffs in late 2013 or early 2014 - do you know what groups will be affected?

I worked @ Unum from 1998 thru 2005. I was on of VERY few who actually resigned. I cannot understand how they attract the quality employees they do.

The whole sector is hurting - we are shipping jobs overseas - UNUM is not immune

insurance and non-insurance subsidiaries are hurting right now

My mother worked for Unum as well and she was out on Disability when she was laid off - I had applied for employment years ago with Unum, but the recruiter would not hire me even the the Regional Vice President told him too ----

I got let go on Monday (yesterday) - I was working on short-term disability products - I was planning of going back to school anyway so I am not devastated. On the other hand I know some folks with kids and mortgages that got let go as well. Good... — read more
