Thread regarding SAE Institute (formerly the School of Audio Engineering) layoffs

Compliance is back!

Finally some sense. Now if they would bring back Chris Davie, the call center manager and career services lady. There's no one who really does their jobs.

Didn't Micehel Ernst say that ACICS wasn't going away and supported Expression moving to ACICS? what a joke

Our campus was never impressed by the compliance woman. There seems to be a big divide between those that view her favorably and those that do not. I know our campus director would not have given a thumbs up for her return, so I'm fairly sure the highest-ups still aren't listening to the voices that know. But then again, I'm also pretty sure no one would be too comfortable giving an honest opinion of anything these days - everyone feels threatened. But had our campus director been asked for an opinion, and felt comfortable voicing it, she wouldn't have been one of the ones called back.

I agree. Chris Davie would be a welcome addition. In any role. But I hear he's already got a gig.

I am glad they came to their senses on this move. The other guy was too much like the higher ups and not as responsive

She is one of the best in the industry at compliance if you do your research; and an extremely nice person... This is a welcome return.

we need a stronger academics person to lead. and i'm amazed that there's no career services at corporate. that makes no sense. but it shows where the priorities are.

From campuses moving from ACCSC to ACICS, she is needed.

The only issue I had is that she went to the Chicago campus for their visit when she was needed more at the LA campus, and went to the San Francisco campus for their visit when she was need more at the MIami campus. Her policies may not be popular, but she worked hard and at least communicated with the campuses better than the higher ups there.

I didn't think that her (compliance) return was good news. She was never well liked around here. She went to LA to help prep for a visit and they were cited around a DOZEN TIMES. She THINKS she knows everything...I don't know what anyone is thinking at the top anymore.

Of course not. You have to still come here. Kidding. I heard from someone else on campus. waiting to hear the news that Bill Smith is back too.

Finally. Our campus has been worried about the Accreditation transfer to ACICS.

Yeah, they canned the expressions director of career services and then the only group level one within two months of each other? Guess students getting jobs is not important... Though they say it is.
