I am very interested in getting a job with Schlumberger but was curious about possible career paths. I have a B.Sc. with a major in Biology (not super relevant, took mostly environmental/ecology courses) and a 2-year technical diploma in Environmental Engineering Technology - Water Resources. The diploma covered many things regarding surface water & groundwater quality, drilling & well construction, and geology. I have no direct work experience in oil & gas at this time. Just wondering what kind of positions I would qualify for. I am looking to be working on a well site and have looked at some of the jobs for recent graduates on the Schlumberger website. I am most interested in the "Field Technical" positions as it requires a bachelor of science and seems to have more options for advancement. Any information would be much appreciated!

Stay away
Same here, avoid oil and gas for next 10 years
I would stay out of oil and gas, personally. It's not worth the worry.
What do you mean by "Field Technical" positions?
Field engineer or "Tech & Field"? It all depends
on where you are based and from which university
you have earned your diplomas! "Tech and Field"
jobs need a PhD from a good research university.
