So, I attended the training for the new dumbed-down version of computer apps course. It’s simply amazing what a disservice they are providing to our customers. (Notice that I did not say students). Has anyone else attended and do you have comments?

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. The new format has only one assignment for each of the MS Office applications that do not go into the depth needed for the workforce. Plus video solutions are provided so no need for any reading or practice. They need to lay off the useless discussions and provide more hands-on assignments in MS Office. They are catering to the limitations of their customers rather than on skills that are required by employers. What a joke of a class!
I was waiting for someone to say something about it.. the one I attended was horrible, people talking over each other, no one really knew any answers to any of the questions from the participants.. but then the kicker was I kept asking myself where is the new content, where is the revamp.. all they did was pre-fill in more stuff that instructors were already doing.. web links, doc sharing and then someone said "wow this will make our jobs even easier" I was thinking yeah more time to babysit...so in short the new dumb down version is just that.. I will say I like the improvement of having hyperlinks in the weekly overview assignment section..as it will backup what I normally enter in my preview and summary post.. but other than that nothing earth shattering.. and that video..geeze audio people, a 20-30 dollar usb headset with microphone would do wonders.. now since i have missed reporting in talisma 4 times this term, I doubt I will get course next term as RT has me on the blacklist..ha!
