So staples is cutting even more hours for stores and cutting more employees, they might as well close the stores entirely because we already can't get anything done with the amount of hours we are given. I work on a tier 2 store which will now become a tier 4, on an average day we do about $15,000 - $20,000 and see heavy foot traffic, we already have huge gaps in coverage because of lack of hours and also have no time to get tasking done, customers are having to wait for help because all employees are assisting other customers. Customer service will suffer even worse than it is now and it will be even more difficult to keep up the operations side of things. We will soldier on and see how all of this turns out but I will keep my options open just in case.

In most states you can appeal the denial. However, this is pretty much as expected. It will get worse and more aggressive with each new round of closures / RIFs. So if you do get laid off with severance this month consider yourself mildly fortunate. It could have gone worse.
What severance district 7 notorious for firing people being let go to avoid severance pay and consistently deny unemployment
Probably would have been better to be laid off with severance in this case because if all is as stated, that ship is going down like the Titanic.
That is a pretty big deduction (assuming there are no facts missing). Yes, you will be well and truly screwed losing all that staff and still having that customer count - until they all get pissed off and leave.
Sounds like they want to either close you or turn you into a SCAP.
Wow,so sorry I didn't know that you worked at my store and knew everything that goes on there. We make a lot more on holidays and during BTS and our smm has already been axed and they are changing the formula for what sales number equals a tier 4.
You are an idiot if you think your store is a tier 2 and you think you're going to a tier 4.
$15,000 a day makes you a tier 3 at about 5.46 million/yr.
And if you were a tier 2 that is going to do 5.46 million in 2014 you had a terribly easy year considering you had a GM, SMM, SSM, FT & PT Supe.
No sympathy here
See "Leave now" post below, time to go buddy
We are a 7m store...working on extremely low payroll....shifts left empty...in all departments....but not cpc...5 to 6 people working everyday and still screaming for help...can't help if there is NO one on the floor...so aggravating/frustrating..customers are NOT happy....csat is the lowest ever. What in the world are they thinking??
This is a set up to fail situation
