My honest take on this, I myself relocated to the silicon valley from San Diego 7 years ago. If you were to do it now, maybe think. Qualcomm's base salary and bonus along with benefits is near the top of the rung. A company like Apple of course gives much better RSU's, bit do you want to grade that of four work life balance that Qualcomm gives you? That is for an individual to decide.

sure, but the living prices/standards are higher.. so you might end up with a loss after all
55482, are you referring to companies in SD or SJ? In silicon valley, engineers have plenty of choices and many companies do pay better in both base salary and stock.
good luck finding another place that pays higher than Qualcomm
i am tired of this company's leadership. Murthy is destroying this company.
i started interviewing for a better place
More layoffs for sure.
I can totally see gradual benefit reductions over time, that's an easy way to save money and prop up our EPS. I do not like it but I do understand it.
First benefit reduction will be that employees will need to start contributing for dependents' basic health insurance benefits
more layoffs for sure and also reduced benefits
More layoffs coming as the revenues from licensing continue to decrease; when times were good, it lifted all boats.
