Does someone know how many managing directors there are at Accenture. I stumbled upon a number (7,500) but it looked fairly high as I'd expect the number to be in a 3,000 to 5,000 range. I'd appreciate if someone can post the info here.

search on internal site shows 5,500
I'd say 6000 is a fairly good estimate as #518 posted below, just me ballparking it, I might be off as I do not how things work outside of the USA.
To put things into perspective for you we have laid off 300 senior execs (managing directors now, partners before) in 2009. So do your math. Since then, the company grew 20% and it's unlikely that more than 10% of partners were let go
There are probably 6000 managing directors at Accenture right now, I do not think that the number is published anywhere.
