Sorry I meant you should swap hives. There is a cream for one nasty ass rash, and another that requires a hospital stay and intravenous meds. You should know by now which one you need.

Poor Flipside. The invisible hand doesn't do it for him. He's a visual kind of ...guy.

flipside is an instructor and an unhappy taxpayer concerned with the demise of the invisible hand of capitalism. He will need intensive therapy and personally I think we should charge him for being here. He profited from the machine he hates, poor thing, and the psychic discord is manifesting itself in a rancorous fashion for all to see. I think he should swap wives with one of his students.

780 and 792: It most certainly WAS excellent! Not in the academic standards, employable graduates, have to read books, blah blah blah blah way. It was EXCELLENT in the Bill and Ted way! Party on Dudes! We are History!

780.....So are you saying you don't believe CCI schools provide kids with "excellent" education? lol

Flipside; I take issue with your belief that our students were "provided with an excellent education." I take it that you're an instructor, and you may be relatively competent, but when you throw around words like "excellent" you shouldn't actually mean "the textbooks and instructors weren't all that bad and the student could have learned something if they really tried." What annoys me the most about your post is that I have a sneaking suspicion that you're one of the instructors who passed students through whether they had mastered the subject matter or not. I also suspect that you didn't penalize them for absences or being tardy, but instead let them continue on with the slovenly standards that make it impossible for them to get decent jobs. How were they still collecting stipend checks if they weren't cracking a book or doing homework?

Flipside is not banned because his temper tantrum will probably be hilarious.

The deal will happen. The DOE is not about to put all those students out of school, all those people out of work, and dismiss all those loans. That would open the door for any other college student with a loan and no job to request forgiveness, and that is not about to happen. We're talking billions of dollars in loans, for people who knowingly signed up for an education (and actually took advantage of the education or blew it off) and for one reason or another cannot pay it back, or just do not want to pay it back. Most students have college loans - not just Everest students. We all have to pay them back. Regardless of the methods Everest may have used to admit students, at some point that student signed a binding contract, and were provided with an excellent education. Many of them did the work, learned a lot, and have good jobs now. Unfortunately, we only hear about those who neglected to even crack a textbook, do the homework, or show up for a job interview, but were more than happy to blow their stipend checks at Wal-mart. Now they "want their money back." They give the rest of our students a bad name. Most of our students have better writing skills than the people on this board, but they aren't here - they're at their jobs right now, putting their educations to work.

761: I've got news for you, Sunshine. If the deal doesn't happen, it'll be a 100% staff reduction.

I think it is more likely that we will see a 20% staff reduction... starting with bloated manager positions.

ED seems committed to making it happen, so I'd say near 100%. That's not the part I'm worried about. It's the after-sale mayhem that's going to be a bitch.

Deal is certainly going to happen. However, whether you get to keep your job is completely another issue. Enrollment may tank and when that happens, ain't no magic ECMC can do to save your job.
