Cut our store hours from 475 to 280. Just went to level 4 store. Has anyone encounters this.

This is pretty much what they want. Drive out long term staff by making conditions intolerable/impossible so they quit (or fired). New staff can be hired for less. The next round of closures will also cost less in severance due to fewer tenured people collecting over 2 weeks pay. I walked into a store I used to work in and it was an absolute mess. The manager (only saw one) was on register with a huge line of people while another line formed at the service desk to ask for help that would never come. There was another cashier and one person at the tech counter as well as someone in copy center, and that was all I saw in the 20 minutes I was there.
Same at our store from 430ish to 300. So they reduce store hours by 13 hours a week and reduce staffing the 130 a week. I can't ever remember having 10 associates in the store at a time so? All tier 4 stores are on death row.
I was a tech and mobility supervisor, and a Copy and Print Supervisor at a store in Indiana. I worked for 5 years before I moved away, and when I moved back I went right back to work at the same Staples store. In the 1 year I was there, I realized this company had changed soo much for the worse. We started with 3 managers in the store, plus keyholders. Within a year we where down to only being able to have 1 Store Manager, plus the keyholders/"team supervisors". That combined with the announcement of closing stores, firing our district manager and merging us into Clevelands district, and losing prime tech even though we where hitting the goals. I knew it was time to just get out. So I did just that and I left. Didn't even put in 2 weeks. I hope everything works out for you. The grass in greener on the other side!! I put this on another post. Put what you have posted happened to us, before we finally went down to only having 1 manager, and the store hours where shortened. I immediately had red flags going up, and I left that place real fast and started my search for something else.
500 to 325, pretty similar. I think this is just a start. Our numbers keep going down significantly though, I think we are on the chopping block.
