Heard 20,000 people will be cut on the second round of layoffs starting in April. The 20,000 will come out of both Halliburton and Baker Hughes. This is more because of the merger than because of the price of oil.

UK layoffs to start big time later this week
We were told yesterday layoffs are still in full force for the next few weeks everywhere then there will be a second big wave in April.
Nope.....OKC was slammed today.
Upstream Chemical, North Texas had layoffs today.
I wonder if there will be any more at Tomball location this week?
Wrong ! CTI - Yorktown plaza will have some more coming either this week or next week. They don't meet their quota yet...Tighten your seatbelt !
Wrong
The lay offs are officially going until the first of April. Everyone regardless of position has been or should have been put on notice that their job may be gone before April. These lay offs are affecting every one from management to the new hires regardless of area they are in. Honestly, everyone should including me start preparing to find another job.
What area is that?
Honestly the layoffs have just started. HR just hasn't made it to your area yet but they are coming. Even to Odessa despite the rumors. This is all part of the integration nothing more. If your job overlaps a Halliburton position chances are you will be gone. I am not trying at all to be discouraging just being honest. My area is getting a visit from HR tomorrow or so I have been told.
That is incorrect.
