Check your severance package and you will see that severance is taxed at 25% along with all required state and federal taxes. That is why it will be less. It's not just Staples its the IRS wanting its share.

I feel like this severance check is being taxed a lot more heavily than previous paychecks. Anyone else feeling that way?

I received my severance check today and its 150 less than it should have been. My unemployment benefit amount is higher! I guess it is time to contact my lawyer...

Having the same issue. I thought I wasn't going to have to call HE anymore, but staples is good at making more inconvenience happen.

I talked with HR Friday after I didn't get my check either and was told the severance pay starts next Friday, despite the fact that the paper work indicated that severance would start this past Friday. I used to love this company, now I can't f***ing stand it and any one in it.

last week was my last week i worked as a Part time TS. i didn't get that last paycheck or my severance. this is not right the contract stated i would continue to get paid weekely till severance was paid out. Makes no sense why they would not pay.

How long ago were you laid off? If you have issue's Sith whatever their promised payout schedule was going to be you should contact a local HR rep who handled the paperwork. I wish you luck...you don't deserve stress like this.

Make sure you got your paperwork in.

Spent almost an hour on hold this a.m. dealing with the same thing

Basically, they over paid us last week and are claiming none of my paperwork had been sent. Had to fax all my severance paperwork to HR. Then they will take a look. Might get paid/might not.
