Former employee here, just curious. How have FTL software developers in general been affected? Which departments/products (XenApp, Receiver, etc)?
How about tech writers and developers working on cloud/web services?

things look done here. shouldnt be any more today.
AnonDudeInFTL - Some teams in DNA FTL were hit hard. Not as bad as some other GEOs. Bedford, MA was completely wiped out from what I hear but that was expected as they have been cutting their technologies for a few years. As for job openings the recs that were approved before the general announcement are still open and active. It is likely some individuals who were cut form some groups will be able to move into new groups. There were some good engineers that were just in a bad team/product feature.
Thanks Anonymous64761. So it seems then that engineering in general, and by and large has not been severely affected in FTL, correct?
From a local economy POV, that is good. Obviously, it is not good for those affected here and everywhere else. Good luck to everyone.
What I find confusing is that, even now in the middle of the layoffs, I'm getting notifications of job openings (which sounds both promising and disturbing at the same time.) I would imagine a hiring freeze prior, during and right after layoffs. Oh well.
Cloud Services was impacted very little from product dev but there was some. When Mark called out that as the new focus of the company you can see how it relates to the cuts. Unfortunately Eng leadership that was replaced missed the ball with XA and XD in the cloud first go around. DNA was heavily impacted because of this. Also too many cross geo managers upon managers. It was constantly politics on every little change.
