I really think the overall communication regarding layoffs could have been handled much better. People create rumors if there is lack of communication and that’s exactly what happened. I am just venting because people are still in fear, and it does not have to be this way. Many people are single bread-winners in their families with little or no savings, with mortgages to pay, multiple kids in schools, and losing job is putting them in a very difficult position. So, providing them with a clear path and honest messages would go a long way. People understand that Baker is a business and that they have to manage payroll expense to be successful, but at least try to be fair to our employees.

Remember, we are their most important asset... yeah right
too quote someone
you know when they are not telling you the truth ,their mouths are moving
I think our morale reached the bottom this week, people just cannot believe how this was handled. To add insult to injury, people see how well compensated the execs are and that makes everyone very angry
Fear leads to anger. Then it leads to low morality. Currently, upper management is going all out to keep remaining employees to be focus and engaged. But the fear is not going away until oil price has found the bottom to start another boom cycle. It's better to cut hard and deep right now rather than dragging the pain for months.
Totally agree!
