Cloud/Web Service in FTL seem to have fared pretty well but there are some that are considering jumping ship after the fall out. Can't blame them; who wants to work for a company that doesn't respect talent and constantly shoots itself in the foot due to poor managing/structuring? Enjoy the temporary boost in profit gains Citrix, it won't last long.

Former employee here, just curious. How have FTL software developers in general been affected. Which departments? How about tech writers and people working on cloud/web services?

In Support, US TRMs got slaughtered. 11 TRMs and 5 TRM Managers. Escalation lost a manager, and 5-10 escalation engineers. Only a few frontline support. Lots of people with 7-10 years or more at Citrix and very good performers were cut. Seemed salary over performance review in most cases in Support.

I'm in FTL - from the info here and from what I've heard from my friends in Support, it seems like Support is taking more of a beating than anyone else - or is that just me?

FTL hit hard today. Some teams completely gone; others hit at 50%.

Not much if anything in the Raleigh office. Everyone here is thinking of all those being affected, though. This is a really crappy scenario. Wish you all the best of luck moving on through this crazy journey. Good things will be ahead.

Bedford office was wiped out. All positions were outsourced to India. There were a few that were asked to stay to train their replacements. Just about everyone else was let go as of today.

I'm in UK (also hit hard). I feel for everyone affected and have had the privilege to have worked with. I have been so stressed by this myself also with small children so its a worrying time. Citrix used to have a culture and management execs always like to talk about the greatness of it, when they have basically ruined the spirit of Citrix really in the last 6 years or so. I wish all my colleagues in FTL and around the world the very best success for the future wherever you might choose to further your careers. Keep your chin's up lads (lasses) and remember a less stressful life may be just around the corner.

Are they still doing layoffs at Spectrum in Fort L? Is it gonna be a groundhog day tomorrow there? I agree with the previous post, let's try to indicate the location u're writing about. Feel very sorry for those who were let go.

Anonymous64291 - It's a mix of individual and group. Know someone who was let go in a group of 8. There was 3 conference rooms of this at the same time in FTL. Entire department was basically cut at once.

Anonymous64294 - Yes Spectrum FTL is currently in progress. A few are carting stuff out as we speak.

It is too bad that many of today's unions have such a bad reputation since collective bargaining by the workers is the only way management doesn't get away with this sort of stuff.

It started in SF as well. Not exactly sure about the numbers though

The USA has very little legal protection for workers as it relates to layoffs, while in Europe and Canada the employer needs to give you some time here they can basically let you go at any point in time. Also, in Europe (or most of it) severance payments are prescribed by governments, in the USA there are no laws similar to that in any state.

Anonymous64271. In Florida it's at will employment which means you can be cut without reason at any point. Immediate escout out the building for security reasons. California/North Carolina may have different state laws.

The US, mostly is AT WILL employement, so they dont have to give you anything. Wonderful government doesnt regulate it. They can cut you off today with no additional pay.For the most part big companies give you a few weeks/months pay to keep their name in good standing with new hires.

Can you just show the door to employees in the US? Most country's in EMEA are covered by laws not allowing this. Must give 1 months notice.

How are those affected being notified? Do the men in black suits just show up at your cube, or do you get an important meeting invite?

FTL sales and services is getting crushed. Started at 9am EST. SOme high level Product Dev Engineering cut. Remote locations are reporting huge cuts like Bedford, MA.

It's happening today in santa barbara not much else to say other than people are packing their boxes and being escorted out by security. About 20% are history.

I heard the same from my spouse whom I just called -- not much going on yet in Ftl -- does this mean it will continue tomorrow? Was hoping the suspense would end today. Can't take it any longer.
