501 - Ypu are right. Remaining staff will not likely be subject to one week furloughs. A meaningful number will be faced with a more permanent reduction in staff. Don't fall asleep out there - Your offer leter simply bought time for ECMC. They also bought time for you, if you act accordingly.....

I believe there will be reductions. I have not read all the way down in the posts but know that the employees I've spoken with did not experience a reduction of pay in their offer letters; perhaps there are reductions that I am not aware of, but assuming there aren't, with a lower population, how could it be feasible to NOT have a RIF when tuition has been reduced significantly along with a lower student population?

Many things are here misrepresented, but many things are also right on the money ( or they used to be)

Duh, they announced awhile ago that the entire Colorado Springs office is laid off as of 2/28. no surprise. It will be tough for awhile on students, but there is work there for fewer, but a more stream lined school.

Reduction in tuition + Reduction in incoming students = Reduction in Staff. Its plan mathematics

You are correct, enrollments down and student choice equals less students where less instructors are necessary. Less students equals less people necessary at CSC and so forth and so on. Watch!

OP may - or may not - simply be trying to stir things up, but there are logical reasons not to dismiss the possibility. Most acquisitions take a a few months to settle in - followed by "rightsizing" of the front line staff. Our enrollment is down, with dim prospects for quick improvement. This also seems to foretell reductions in staff. Doom and gloom - or realistic potential outcome?
