Staples will take the lead, expect Depot to lose most back office functions. They did it with the Corporate Express merger, accounting, purchasing, IT and bids and quotes. Expect to see director level and up to be cut also. Any place there's overlap will be shed. Most accounting and IT is in India or outsourced. My advice, get the resume in order and get out of Depot if you're employed in the back office functions. Good Luck to all, you're going to need it!

Just read it on Yahoo. It's official - Staples bought OD for 6 billion.
It happened! I don't expect the FTC to nix it. The industry is too competitive. Any OD OM people reading this, start looking, Staples will makes your lives miserable.
