Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Assistant Manager is So. Cal

Friends, I cannot stand this uncertainty and humiliation any more. Just need to vent a bit. I've spent numerous weekends and nights away from my family, working long shift and putting up with verbal abuse and management bullying - I cannot stand it any more. I will be resigning this Friday and I do not have anything lined up. I know that's not the way to do it but I just cannot stand it any more, I have to make a move and I am hoping for the best and that I will be able to figure out something quickly. At this point, I am just spent and have to do this. I wish you all the best and for those who will stay behind I really hope Staples bounces back and conditions improve for all of you. Farewell Staples...

I was a tech and mobility supervisor, and a Copy and Print Supervisor at a store in Indiana. I worked for 5 years before I moved away, and when I moved back I went right back to work at the same Staples store. In the 1 year I was there, I realized this company had changed soo much for the worse. We started with 3 managers in the store, plus keyholders. Within a year we where down to only being able to have 1 Store Manager, plus the keyholders/"team supervisors". That combined with the announcement of closing stores, firing our district manager and merging us into Clevelands district, and losing prime tech even though we where hitting the goals. I knew it was time to just get out. So I did just that and I left. Didn't even put in 2 weeks. I hope everything works out for you. The grass in greener on the other side!!

Same district and same thing. Taking abuse daily. Expectations are outragous. Stress is making me physically sick. Applying everywhere. Can't wait, just need one call

I was there 2 years ago. Luckily I had somewhere to go. The economy is good now. Hopefully you should land somewhere soon. Try to stay away from office supplies and consumer electronics.

Good job homey! Just make sure to leave with a notice and do absolutely nothing over those two weeks. Come in late, take two hour meals, let the tech bench PCs pile up. If you worked in Tom Niro and Dick Neff's region I'm glad they are losing yet another good manager. Hey Tom and Dick I think there are some DollarTree managers that you can hire to run your stores into the ground! Haha! Way to go retaining that top talent!
