Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Rough Days

This has been terrible. People taking up conference rooms to chat about rumors. Every single thing you examine has employees wondering why or who.

The wait has been terrible. I started here 7 months ago so I dont even have a year. Hopefully severance is not calculated on tenure because that would leave me screwed. I have 3 kids and my wife does not work.

I left my old job for the stability of a company like Citrix. So much for that. Can't sleep, i tremble at the thought of losing my job.

I hope things turn out to be good for you and your family and that you get to keep your job. I am assuming you do something relating to technology, at least that should be a good thing as it may take a while to find a job but you are in one of the best industries now. If you look at reatail, energy, financial services, distribution, manufacturing, professional services, all of them are hurting right now big time. Good luck and godspeed.

i've been here little longer, 2+ years, yea i came back after being laid off in 2009. the '09 severance was based on years served (1 month + 1 month for each year served). my family situation is similar to yours (stay home wife, 2 little kids).

if there is any good in this let it be it: let this experience cure you out of any delusions of loyalty in the world of business. going forward, be ruthless and never look back. new better job appears, take it! remember, you, your kids, your life means nothing to the people in charge here.

Unfortunately people have told me that severance is based on tenure. Doesn't do me that much good since I haven't been here too long either.

The wait is terrible and I hope everything works out for you.
